scrizzz (1250), kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 30, 2007 oh that’s beautiful! intriguing sour aroma that masks the depth to come. deep dark red, fluffy spongy head. sharp sour bite is quickly matched with a velvety soft sweetness and cherry finish. the oak came out halfway through and continued to get sweeter. mcnally (114), Burbank, California, USA Aug 30, 2007 Ruby red cranberry pour with cllingy lacing. This beer looks like sparkling cider. Sour fruit aroma. Dried sour fruit flavor, yeasty. Dry mouthfeel, velvety. This beer might appeal to a lot of people, but it’s not really my taste. Seems closer to cider than beer. walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA Aug 27, 2007 Bottle. Deep reddish brown with offwhite head. Sweet and sour nose of red wine vinegar and tart cherries. Flavor is mostly cherry sweetness over a nice tart background. Not nearly as sour as the nose implies, which is disappointing. Not overly sweet, just not terribly complex. Tasty stuff. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Aug 26, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown with a brown head. Excellent sweet aroma and sour taste, with cherries the dominant flavour. I’m not usually a fan of sour ales, but this is excellent. LooseCannon (914), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Aug 25, 2007 11.2oz bottle. Pours reddish brown in color with foamy brown head. Sweet aroma. Taste of cherries and tart with sour finish/ MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Aug 23, 2007 A good flanders red indeed. It pours deep chestnut/deep drown with red hues. The head is tiny bubbles, that live a long time. Sour cherry aroma, sherry, oak, some vanilla, and apples with some yeasty funk. This one was sweeter than expected (like bruised apples) and had some nice lactic funk with good cherry and wood flavours. FInish was spritzy and tart. Good. sblair (37), SD, California, USA Aug 18, 2007 On Tap Hamiltons. Deep red/brownish color. tart w/light fruit nose. Strong carbonation and a moderately sweettart ale. very refreshing!
