deep amber with ruby edges capped by an ample off white head with great retention. Nose is tart and has a essense of horsehair. Taste begins with vinegar, burnt sugar, lemon, and brett. light body, but not watery. Aight.

25 cl bottle from beerexpress in Tallinn. BB 02-03-2017. Clear dark mahogany colour; head’s beige with excellent retention and thick lacing. Looks marvelous. On the nose there’s loads of vinegar and fruits, more specifically cherries and grapes, wood, and it’s sweet, very sweet. Tastes extremely nice, it’s fruity, kind of like black cherry yoghurt, terribly sweet, funky, woody, dry, and the vinegary effect almost burns the throat, but it’s also somehow soothing. The sweetness makes for a sticky texture, while the body is rather thin and the carbonation below average. Only the excessive sweetness, and the burning sensation is a bit too much for me - otherwise it’s absolutely lovable. I’m a sucker for such stuff anyway.

12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. Pours a deep mahogany with hints of red and a vigorous khaki head. The head bubbles away quickly leaving a thin layer of foam on the surface. Smells of sour cherries through and through. Some sweet aromas come through behind. Surprisingly, the first flavor is sweetness and a lightness that I would expect in the finish. The sweetness, happily, is gone very quickly fading to a slight tartness. Not puckering, but enough to overcome the sweetness and give it a even a little bitterness. Medium body. Sour cherry flavor cuts the sweetness nicely. Simple, but good.

750 ml cork bottle bought at Craftissimo in Tsim Sha Tsui East.

Looks: Clear, deep burgundy colour with a thick crust of yeast sediments; Less than one-quarter finger head and soapy off white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Very good sticky lacing with near zero carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant malt, with very strong red wine, Port wine, light balsamic vinegar, yoghurt, red grape skin, black cherry, funk, alcohol, wood barrel and light tannic.

Taste: Very pleasant sweet and sour malt, with strong cherry, strong yoghurt, red vinegar, light red wine, alcohol, strong tannic, strong wood barrel, cellar, strong funk, and thin grassy hops.

Body: Mid to light; Thin but winey palate.

Mouth Feel: A bliss of fine taste! Red malt is strong but in a thin body. Wheat is involved but not explicit. Strong sour cherry stole the limelight, along with strong yoghurt, strong funk, salad dressing vinegar, Port wine, fruity sweetness, tannin and strong oak barrel. They combine and work so well the sweet and sour is very balanced and I pretty much forget its thin body and pretty strong boozey taste. It is nice and easy to down a large mouthful. Very nice!

Hoppiness: Only manifested in hints of grassy taste, otherwise it’s all nice tartness and tannic for lasting, savoury finish.

After Taste: Slighty dry. Vinery and very savoury to mouth.

Comments: The best thing about this one is all about balance - sweet and sour, red fruits and barrels, red wine and booze, funk and tannin, etc. etc. Any one of the elements in aroma an taste are strong in its own right but when they come together they work like a tee. Fine-tuned, easy to enjoy and lingering to the tongue, I was glad I bought a bomber so I can enjoy it all night long. Good night!

75cl. Color entre coca cola y rojizo. Aroma a sidra natural. Sabor poco agradable, por el corcho. Bastante gaseosa. Sabor entre fruta y vino rosado. No me gusta.
