Very cool beer. Very sour and very sweet. Different than most Belgian sours. The carbonation is TERRIBLE though, the overall impresion would have been higher if it was spot on. There is no head and very fizzing. Perhaps I got a bad bottle. Very fun beer regardless. I'm looking forward to it warming up, to see what subtleties are unearthed

Poured from 750 ml bottle. Reddish brown in color with a thick creamy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma reminds of wine, sweet, fruity, sour, maybe vinegar. Notes of coffee. Taste is sweet with a sourish finish. Definitely tart cherry and berries. medium sourness, medium sweetness, Ive drank some beers that were extremely sour recently, this has a nice balance of sweet and sour. medium bodied. Really enjoying this beer. Nice blend of funkiness and sour. Very drinkable. First time drinking this and will be definitely revisit.

Hits the mouth with a pleasant fruity taste, comes across sweet but not like a candy. Aroma is pleasant and the color is dark.

Smells strongly of vinegar typical of its style. The flavor was similarily sour. This was more balanced and drinkable than other sour ales, but still not for me. I did not enjoy this, but increased my ratings because I enjoyed this beer relative other sour ales.

Fruity, sweet and strange, but had a full and even body/taste. Need some tasting before getting used to it I suppose. Very nice brown/reddish color, fruity smell.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2003 A lovely sweet/sour midpalate and a very smooth finish. Best at 60F where the flavor was rounded and refreshing. No hops aroma or bitterness. Titratable acidity 1.4% tartaric; pH is 3.6.

Found this at a favorite pub in Maastricht and came highly reccomended from a friend. Great color and very interesting taste. A perfect blend of dry red wine and beer. Strong notes and taste of blackberry and nice smooth aftertaste. The only way I can really describe this beer is to imagine Blackberry juice and Iced tea with a lambic beer kick. Perfect summer afternoon brew.

This IS a Flander’s Red. A very well blended beer. Wonderful spiciness with great cherry notes. The sherry-like finish is classic. Send me more, Please!
