Pours a garnet red and brown with a bubbly two fingers of head that disappears rather quickly with decent lacing. Vinegar aroma smacks you in the face first but gives way to cherry and grape smells as you get used to it. Taste is not as sour as aroma would lead you to believe but still has a nice cherry tartness and flavor with some grape skins and a woody character. Some malt sweetness is also noticeable. Light bodied with high carbonation and light/medium mouthfeel. Very good sour ale that has a good balance of tart and sweet. ---Jeremy H

Very happy to try this one out (finally)! The robe is clear pouring a warm brown shade with very deep ruby highlights topped with a creamy beige head. The nose is smoky and spicy and also has a very nice sweetness with grapes and even a little floral side. To be honest, I’m not a great fan of very sweet beers (usually) with a certain smokiness, but this one has just the right amount of sweetness from the fruits like cherries and grapes and enough hops to balance it out and be very pleasant on the tongue. Excellent served between 8 and 12 degrees.

Odeur forte de vinaigre..Belle couleur mais pas de mousse. Goût fort acide, et goût de vinaigre bien prononcé. Bière originale.

Bottle, 0.25l. Clear ruby brown color with large soapy tan-like head. good lacing and sparkling appearance. Complex aroma of yeast, wine, raisins, wood and musty cellar. Taste starts sour vinous and yeasty with good malty backbone, follows more sweetish fruity with mild spicy mouthfeel and acetic finish without any bitterness. Full body, creamy texture and lively natural carbonation. Excellent sweet & sour sensation...

From bottle. Immediately upon opening the cap, before it was even off the bottle, the foam started to fizz out. Very very carbonated. Hazy copper pour with a huge yellowish head. Aroma and taste of sour yeasts. Very sweet. Like candy and ripe fruits.

Pours ruby colour with almost no head. Aroma of red wine vinegar, wild notes and cherry. Taste is pleasantly sour, wild, fruity with some delicate caramel notes in the background. Solid carbonation puts the beer next to champagne or a bottle of good red wine. Simply amazing.

750cc bottle from Aeon. Poured a deep handsome red-brown into wine glass, where it gave off inviting aromas of caramel, vinegar and dark fruit. Quite sour, but some nice sweetness. Juicy body, not overboozy. Soy sauce, candy cane, dates. Went down a treat with Christmas dinner.

shared by bartlebier 10/14, revisited with Konfuzzi, as a long tasting’s precautionary antidote to everything consumed so far - or so it seems, with that soothing aromas of warm, oaky acidity with some honey edges and that benevolent mild, deep, warm tartness throughout.
