Draft. Pours a beautiful mahogany color, reddish brown, with a him off-white head. Aroma is a pungent balsamic vinegar character, with sour notes. Flavor is a light balsamic vinegar with a mild sweetness. Medium body with lingering vinegar notes. Unique, but delicious beer, but I’m biased because I love balsamic vinegars!

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2013 Pours a beautiful deep red beer with a small white head. I think I smell droves, red wine. The taste is complex. A bit burning? Medium sweet and sour. Dont like the after taste. Dry texture and good carbo.

What a beautiful beer. Pours like the style suggests a light brownish crystal color with good head retention. Aroma is floral with hints of grapefruit. Taste is amazing and complex with the solid malt backbone and a beautiful tart finish. Great acidity would make this an awesome food beer. Really enjoyed this one.

Pours brown with a white head. I found this beer to be way too malty and sweet. I didn't think it was balanced. The sourness was actually pretty mellow. Couldn't even finish it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This.is.divine. My first exposure to the Flemish reds. This and Victenaar (missing an h?) will always be in my top ten. Divine queens of the brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tart with a refreshing sweetness. The aroma is malty yet also sour. This beer leaves a warm taste on the tongue.

Light acetic acid on the nose. Opaque brown thin head. Good sour kick but not overwhelming. Good structure behind it. Finishes with lingering soreness. Great example of the style.

clear brown, frothy tan head with some irregular lacing. vinegar, oak, plum, raisin, lemon, caramelized sugar, apple, cherry. medium sour, medium sweet. medium body, creamy feel, lively carbonation. definitely not as sour as many others of the style. rather intense sweetness underneath the puckery sour makes this a lot more drinkable than most sours ive had.

Draft at Cafe Mox. Pours clear, dark ruby / mahogany, ample tan head, into a Duchesse de Bourgogne goblet no less. Plenty of lacing, good retention. Really quite attractive. Aroma of vinegar, fruit (cherry-ish), oak. Taste -- a lot sweeter on the tongue than expected given the nose, with very subdued acidity. Sweet cherry and a little oak. Ridiculously drinkable, like a fruity cocktail. Slick texture, a little thin, average carbonation, goes down smooth, leaving a slick, sweet coating. Occasionally there’s a metallic note, but mostly the fruit syrupy coating dominates. Overall -- this would be great for a lot of occasions -- easy to make this a pleasant dessert. Would also be a fantastic introduction to sours, especially for somebody with a bit of a sweet tooth. The acidity is definitely on the light side, and overall this is a little too syrupy to become a favorite of mine, but I’ll definitely be returning to it.

Pours a nearly opaque red/brown with a decent amount of tan head that dissipates slowly. Smell is... strange, kind of like worcestershire sauce with the sound tang and the slight sweetness. Palate is medium bodied with good carbonation. Taste is sweet and sour at first that gradually builds to a sour climax before leaving a strange bitter and sour aftertaste in the back of my throat. I’m not really a fan of this, though it might just be the style.
