I’m not an expert in this beer genre but this is the first old brown beer I really enjoy. It has a very interesting balance of malts, rye, caramel, dark fruits and a wine like sour finish. Good balance of sweet and sour. Very refreshing beer with flavors that keep popping and changing.

Bottle 0,25L. Have to pour this one very slow, stop many times, because of huge head and continue pouring after it settle down. Clear, dark amber, red color with huge, light brown, frothy head. Aroma of balsamic vinegar and so is the taste. Very sour/acetic, reminds me of some specific sort of red wine. Nice combination of balsamic vinegar and cherries. Light to medium body, soft carbonation and slightly tart finish.

Aroma reminiscent of wine cellar. Light mouth feel with fizzy carbonation. Abrupt aftertaste. Initial sweet and sour tastes, each equally assertive. Slight saltiness.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

25cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Pours dark cherry red with a one finger light brown head. Aromas of balsamic vinegar, cherries, dates, oak. Taste: WOW! A continuation of the aromas, with notes of balsamic vinegar, cherries, oakiness pervades strong here, dark fruit, olives, dates. Medium body with a sweet acidic finish. Overall a very fine combination between the sour vinegar and the sweet cherry taste. Awesome sour flemish red which would be a good combination with Prosciutto and a Caprese salad or with a pasta dish...

Look; fawnish to off white top, ultra dark ruby or rose-mahogany body, semifarrownarrow lacing. Aroma; sour fruits, citric peels, tobacco notes, polish remover, leaves. Taste; sour fruits, citric acid, mint, confectionery - finishes softly in the light malt shades with oaky dokey barrels. Palate; juicy. Overall; winey. [33cl btl, 6.2%abv, BB30.09.17#]

Bottle from the real ale store Newark. Deep Ruby colour with a tan head. Fruity cherry aroma taste is berry sharpe but also light sweet.

Cerveza belga estilo Ale. Rojiza u olor afrutado. Espuma ligera y cierto toque en sabor a achampanado por si acidez final. Rica en sabor y no muy alta graduación. 6.2° . Recomendable.

Pours a brown-burgundy, can just see through it, tinges of red, nice beige head which settles and laces beautifully. The aroma is vinegary straight away, sour and funky, slightly off, but it settles into a lovely balsamic aroma, sour cherries. The taste is superb. It follows the aroma but adds much more. The oak barrels come through nicely, red grape, light tannins, spice. It’s marvellously refreshing, sharp small carbonation bubbles, equal parts sweet and acidic, lingering sour cherry. Goes really well with this pasta dinner, and could be sipped, could be a quencher on a warmer day. Superb.

Excellent beer... You love it or you hate it... I think that's a lambic made with spontaneous fermentation... Is like drinking the Finest balsamic vinegar from Modena, italy... This beer is a must to have at home... I would love to try it with a good dish of fresh salad...
