4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2013 Pours a dark reddish brown. Quite a sweet, malty aroma, with a hint of sourness, as well as green apple and oak. Tastes sweet and sour, quite fruity, has strong hints of green apple, with a bit of balsamic. A very complex character, there are a heap of different things going on regarding taste, and itís hard to pin them all down. This is an amazing beer, every time I drink one it is almost a spiritual experience, trying to pin down all the different aspects of the beer, as compared the 2 dimensional malt-hop profile of most other beers, this is about 6 different dimensions, with all the different microbes making their own aroma and taste, as well as the malt and hops.

Bottle 0,25. Pours dark brown and redish with large off-white head. Aroma of cherries, vinegar, malts, berries. Taste is cherries, red berries, malts, hint of oak and tobacco. Sour at first but with some sweetness taking slowly over. Reminds somewhat of red lemonade. Interesting mix of sweet and sour. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Taste is similar with a light sweetness and a fairly strong sourness. Well-balanced vinegar. Finish is vinegar and light alcohol. Somewhat wine-like. Full body. Prickly, medium carbonation. Heavy, creamy mouthfeel.

Rating #2139 -2015.10.28 - Bottle @7Degrees Beer School. Pours a deep reddish brown with a bubbly head that disapparates rather quickly. Aroma is vinegar, balsam wood, mild accrid. Palate is well balanced - lots of balsamic notes, some woody oak components, and a leathery, tobacco bitter funk note -unreally tasty.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Almost opaque dark brown color with strong glass clinging activity. Slightly creamy brown 2 finger head, lasting around 15-20 minutes, creating a very good amount of legs. Flavors of worcestershire sauce, rotten dark fruits, ester fruits, grapes, cherries, cheese, stinky feet, herbal spices and yeast. Medium body with prickly carbonation. Strong thick bitter finish with a long lasting super dry fruity putrid leathery vinous feel, ending with a barbecue sauce feel, a little oaky, and a blue cheese and peppery aftertaste. Overall I donít like this craft due to an overly rotten feel with excessive flavors. Too bitter, not accessible at all, really hardcore stuff. Poor unbalanced flavors and no freshness. Could not even finish the bottle. Bad bottle maybe?

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
I am unfamiliar with this beer style, so I didnít know what to expect and am inexperienced with this type of beer. It was totally unlike anything Iíve ever tried before, very different from other sours. Pours a hazy purplish-reddish-brown and the head almost looks greenish to me, itís like a subdued rainbow in the glass. Flavor is very sour, almost too much for me. The sourness forces me to sip it slowly, which brings out nuances in the aroma nicely. For a beer just over 6%, aroma is extraordinarily boozy, reminds me almost of a stronger wine or distilled liquor. Aroma reminiscent of worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, wood (is that the oak aging?) and sourdough bread. Flavor very sour, itís so sour that itís hard to discern other flavors, but I donít notice much bitterness, although there is hint of sweetness. The finish leaves lingering fruity notes, estery. Surprisingly light and refreshing; as I get over the vinegary quality, I actually feel pretty good while drinking it. I get the sense that this is a well-brewed beer, and I probably just donít like the style very much. It was extraordinarily interesting, to say the least.

The beer has a nice look. The color of the beer is ruby red. The color is quite dark. The beer seems clear. On top of the beer there is a nice layer of white foam. The foam collapses quickly, to leave a tiny drape. Weird that the beer was sold like an amber beer. The smell is special. I didnít expect this. The smell has some aspects of a barley whine. I also smell delicious rich red forest fruits. The smell is sweet and a little sour. The sourness is the same as that in wine. There is a nice balance between sour, sweet and bitter. Itís a very special smell. Itís not like anything else. The taste is the same. Itís has a lot of wine like aspects. There are strong flavors of red fruit and alcohol. I like the wine like aspect. A lovely beer. Itís a unique beer and really a beer for Connoisseur. The palate if the beer is good to. It has a strong amount of gas. Great.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
BBF-date 17-02-2018. Pours a clear dark chestnut brown with small and quickly dissolving off-white head. Loads of oriental spices, some figs, herbs and frangrance on the nose. The palate is enticing. Medium bodied and alot less acidic than I expected, with a nice balancing sweetness. Finisheslong with a sort of ice tea-like quality, but fizzy. Extremely tasty. I need to buy a case of this stuff. This beer should appeal to both newbies and experts alike as itīs not as difficult to appreciate as some other examples, yet is at least as complex and interesting as all others Iīve tasted. One of the best beers Iīve had this year.

Appears dark copper but looks ruby red in the light with a thin beige head. Strong, deep aroma of red wine, balsamic vinegar, oak. Flavour- red wine and predominantly sour black cherry as well as other fruity notes, sour and sweet taste. Acidic, quite fully bodied and high carbonation. Has a fresh and sharp finish which feels spicy/tingles in the throat. Really different and tasty beer!
