This was my first sour ale and I found it exceptionally different for anything I have had before. I was a little shocked by the taste at first but either because it was warming up or because it is an aquired taste, I began to enjoy it thouroughly. The aroma is very strong and smelled of vinegar. There was little to no head and it was a dark brown that glistened red in the light. The taste was almost like a bitter sour wine.

Bottle. Dark reddish colour with a creamy medium-sized beige head. Aroma is tart, woody and fruity with notes of sweet cherries. Flavour is sweet and sour with some caramel, apples and cherries. Medium-bodied and quite sour finish.

nice malt backing to this cherry flavored ale that finishes sour with a mellow alcohol like finish. bit of wood and even less so of charcoal. milky and yeasty with some candy caramel apple.... i might even discern the nuts.

Color was reddish brown, but aroma and taste were less sour than I expected. Modest head. Medium body.

Light, light sourness, wood, apple, tiny bit of cardboard, easy to drink. I’ve had this lots of times, never difficult to finish off a 75cl bottle.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2014 Clear red brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, a little acetone and sour fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and light sour. Dry and light sour finish. I felt a rerate was in order since I had given a 2.8 originally. 050414

750 mL bottle. Pours an amazing ruby red with thin beige head. What a color! Granny smith apples in the nose. More lemony zest as it warms. The taste is a complex sweet/sour. Lemon and sour cherry balanced with sweet malt. Light mouthfeel and a sweeter finish. This is one acidic beer - it was making my fillings ache! Very well crafted.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2015 Re-rate: Bottle @ Home.Courtesy of Saxo, Thanks! BB18012014 Pours very dark brown with a offwhite head. Aroma of light sourness, tart fruit, cherries, wood, balsamico, light vinegar, slight oxidation, maybe a bit of mold, but not in a bad way. Flavor is malt, lightly sour, sour cherries, wood, little vinegar, light spice. Medium body, soft carbonation, light sweet sour finish. 220415 Bottle @ DØE meeting. Pours dark brown with a small offwhite head. Aroma of tart fruit, like sour cherries and malt. Taste is very sweet with cherries and sugar. Thin body. Not a beer to my liking, way to sweet. 6-2-5-3-11. 190111

Bottle. Very dark brown pour some lasting carbonation and great sour apple/sour cherry aroma. Flavor is very green apple right off the bat, slightly sweet and effervescent white grapes and has a champagne aftertaste.
