Pours copper with a nice, light brown head. Aroma shows raspberry, balsamic vinegar and oak. Palate has sweet malt that brings berries before the oak kicks into gear and delivers a dry, salty mustiness to it. Finishes with chalky, slightly tart acidity.

Bottle @ DØE meeting. Pours dark brown with a small offwhite head. Aroma of tart fruit, like sour cherries and malt. Taste is very sweet with cherries and sugar. Thin body. Not a beer to my liking, way to sweet. 190111

On draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap. Aroma is a bit sour and tart with some vinegar. Taste is fruity and somewhat sour. There are also some grape notes that balance everything out to make it a little less sweet. Lite sour syrupy mouthfeel. Nothing that makes me want to drink again. I am going to sample more of this style.

I can not appreciate this style, the winney taste distracts for me. The sweet and sour I can understand but it just does not come together for me

UPDATED: APR 26, 2006 Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours a bronze red\brown with an off-white head. Aroma of fruit and alcohol. Flavor is sweet, fruity, with a sour tart finish. I didn’t care for this at all, and halfway through the bottle i got bored and dumped mine.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2008 Bottle. Smell is sour grapes and butter. Dark red body with lovely white head. Taste is pungent sour half & half, butter, some cider. Brutal on the palate. Never had a flemish sour before, and I may steer clear of them in the future. Good lord.
