3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very bright plum and cherry, tart, medium palate, lots of lacing and slightly syrupy but not too thick. Pretty good. Menu description says 6% ABV, I find it hard to believe, feels more intense.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: APR 15, 2006 Dark ruby-brown. Big and fruity, vinous nose. Extremely sweet with big cherry and apple candy notes. A little too syrupy on the palate. Some sourness tries to tame the sweetness, but there’s not nearly enough of it. Only a slight yeastiness contributes to the flavor profile. Only a hint of alcohol is noticeable. Bit of metallic and band-aid flavors. Very, very mild hop flavors. Overall, not complex enough and much too sweet for my buds. Finish is bland and uneventful.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2003 This poured a dark reddish brown with a small tan head. The first thing that hits me is the SOUR nose. It's almost vinegar in aroma. The taste is also very tart but there is a sweetness hidden in there. It seems to make itself more present during the finish. Defnite fruit the taste sour apple mixed with plums, maybe. Hard to describe really. It evens out as you drink it. I didn't notice the sour as much after getting halfway through the bottle. It seems to sweeten up a little and reveal a little more than just tartness. It's been said already, but this is definitely something different!

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 23, 2004 Brown/red in color with a sour, vinegary aroma. Fruity and sour. Very unusual, but not unpleasant. Short, flat, quick-to-dissipate brownish head. The first sip was the toughest, as my tongue and brain take in the shock of such a strange flavored beer. After several more sips, the taste became more understandable, and more flavors became apparent....cherries, tiny bits of chocolate malt. Enjoyable, if unusual. To quote MIchael Jackson "Some drinkers could never learn to enjoy....sour specialties....any more than they could acquire a taste for a smelly cheese...in [that] case, the loss would be theirs."

Nice looking red-brown beer. Taste far too sweet/fruity(cherry) to my opinion.
From dubbel moving towards kriek.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
this sample from a tap...no head...smells of vinegar and sugar...and pretty much tastes that way too...I may give the bottles another shot, as I don’t recall it being this sweet, but it was just too much...sweet and sour is cool...but this is just too sweet...

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pour is deep reddish amber with a thin off white head...aroma is citric and some cherry...taste is not as tart as I’d anticipated...definately sweet and tart at first, but something butter and greasy in the finish making it sort of unpleasant...

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This is a strange brew. Pours a deep mahogony with nice head and lacing. Head is a nice off-white color. Aroma is very complex consisting of sweet and spice. Flavor was NOT what I expected at all. This was VERY sweet with flavors of raisins, sour apples and cherries, malt and champagne. It has a definite champagne mouthfeel as well, given the nice carbonation from tiny bubbles. Not sure what to think of this ale. It has some appealling aspects to it, but the champagne-dominated flavor and mouthfeel knock this one down a little.
