Wow, not expecting this sour ale to be so sweet, but not bad for balance. If it wasnt sour, it would be way too sweet. Kind of a desert beer. Good sour belgian ale smells. Tastes of cherries, and fruits, with a hint of caramel and slight roastiness from the dark mal.

Pours amber with a big pillowy tan head. Aroma is sour cherries and other dark fruits, with a little bit of earthy woodiness. Flavor is sweet and sour caramel and dark fruits, with lots of tart cherry. Very good.

This beer is fairly odd. I was expecting something more sour than this, but it is still good. In appearance it is like looking through a burgundy prism. The aroma is higly sour and smells somewhat of red wine and cranberries. The flavor is more subdued. It is tart, crisp, combined with maltiness and a little bit of raisin flavor. It reminds me of a Spanish manzanilla sherry I once drank in terms of fruitiness. Specifically there are hints of raisin, raspberry, some green apple. At first I was disappointed because I was expecting something very sour, but the more I sip it, the more I appreciate it’s mellow blend of sourness, maltiness, and earthy fruit. Seek this out and buy a bottle!

Brown with red highlights, good head. Smells sour (lambic like) and woody, the taste is bittersweet and sour and you can feel the oak. Very drinkable and refreshing. Great beer but too sweet to be perfect!

Poured into a snifter at The Red in Santa Cruz. Color is a mix between quadrupel brown and cherry red. Decent head for a style characterized by acidity. Oak, brett, vinegar, cherry in the aroma. Nice red fruit sweetness is decapitated by an exquisite tartness and vinaigrette bite that puckers every corner of the mouth. Some oak and grape skin. Thin bodied, dry, effervescent, and smooth. The only fault is that the sharpness is best in small doses, reducing the drinkability to me.

This beer was a great surprise to me. I really liked the fruity flavor and yet it was still a beer

Pours a rich cherry/amber color with a full and frothy head. Aroma is reminiscent of sour apples. Comes on strong and sour but mellows into a fruity-sweet and warm-alcohol finish (almost aperitif). Incredibly complex palate that manages to be both fruity and earthy, sour and sweet. A great beer in short - a fine sour ale.
