Dark brown/ruby color. Light tan head and lace. Nose is vinegar, cherries, oak and others. Light to medium bodied, slightly biting carbonation, sweet ripened cherries give way to somewhat tart ones with hints of caskwood. Gentle caresses of cranberry and alcohol in the beginning also show themselves. This is damn tasty and one all lovers of the style should try. I like this better then the liefman’s goudenband.

Wow this is probably the best flanders red I’ve had. Slightly vinegar-y aroma and flavor. Good assertive sourness. Great malt flavor raisins, oak, sour cherries are all there. Fairly sweet finish. I ejoy this as much if not more than rodenbach.

bottle. pours a brilliant deep red with a decent size off white head. deep aromas of dark fruits, cherries, and apples. very sweet and full of fruit. full body over the palate with the sour apples coming forward, followed by dark cherries and some sweet wine. Nice sour finish... not too sour, just the right amount for my tastes. Excellent sour...

Today, bottle 25 cl. Deep brown with thin beige head. Woody fruit aroma. Sour and sweet pallet. Great balance. light sourness for a sour. But for me is Vichtenaar little better.

Bottle, bar. Red-brown, nice head.Smell is sweet, rich, inviting. Strikes the middle between kriek and Rodenbach. It’s less sweet as kriek, and hints towards the sourness of a gueuze. Very tongue-friendly beer, which lets it drink easily. Very good.

14/03 0.75 l bottle from beershop.hr, shared with Doggythedog. It poured dark brown body, deep red on direct light, with medium sized brownish head. Nice caramel aroma with vinous sourness, a bit of chocolate and some sugar as well. It had even more untypical malty sweetish flavor. Malty caramel and chocolate are just the basic things felt here, it had some fruitiness, spices, yeast is felt as well. Of course, that typical sourness is present here a lot, but much more than I’ve used to encounter. Full bodied and a bit cloying with longer sweetish, sour, even slightly bitter finish. Notes of cork as well. This is a strange sour ale for its own good and I liked so much that perfect balance of flavors.

Bottle, dark red, ruby port like with small head. Sour vinegar aroma, but a well balanced taste of tart cherries, raspberries. Dry and refreshing, very well done. A complex and sophisticated taste.
