Tart, fruit forward with a beautiful red color and touch of sweetness. All the flavors are well blended all all the edges well rounded.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2013 Pours a dark reddish brown. Quite a sweet, malty aroma, with a hint of sourness, as well as green apple and oak. Tastes sweet and sour, quite fruity, has strong hints of green apple, with a bit of balsamic. A very complex character, there are a heap of different things going on regarding taste, and it’s hard to pin them all down. This is an amazing beer, every time I drink one it is almost a spiritual experience, trying to pin down all the different aspects of the beer, as compared the 2 dimensional malt-hop profile of most other beers, this is about 6 different dimensions, with all the different microbes making their own aroma and taste, as well as the malt and hops.

Aroma of vinegar and white wine. Rich mahogany appearance with lasting thin yellow/carmel head. Sour taste with granny smith apple and malt. Sweet aftertaste. A unique beer unlike any other. Well worth it, one of my favorites.

Beautiful ruby-red color with a wispy lace head. The oaken cask conditioning of this beer give the drinker hints of balsamic and red wine vinegar, with some sweetness and floral notes of wine. Taste is amazing, perfect balance of sweet and sour, very strong. Cherries, prunes and sour characters all very powerful and delicious. Great aftertaste.

Een zeer romig bier dat in de familie van de Rodenbach thuis hoort. De Duchesse de Bourgogne heeft een zeer volle en romige smaak gevolgd door een aangename zuurheid. Zeker aan te raden!

Hits the mouth with a pleasant fruity taste, comes across sweet but not like a candy. Aroma is pleasant and the color is dark.

Espectacular!

This is hands down one of my favorite beers and it has been for the longest time. I’m surprised it has taken me this long to rate it. Ive had this beer out of the bottle, as well as on tap which is my preference. It pours out a deep ruby color with a small tan head. It smells funky with vinegar, and fruit from the esters. It’s a well balanced Flemish Red and has just the right amount of tart/sour to it. I love this one and it is my regular go-to.

Bez dwóch zdań fantastyczne piwo. Robi na mnie tak piorunujące wrażenie, że nie ma co opisywać, trzeba wypić!
