jainsv (112), USA Feb 6, 2007 This is the first flemish sour ale I have tried. It pours a deep red/brown color with a thin bubbly white head. It smells fruity with a hint of malt. The taste initially reminds you of wine with a semi-sweet taste which instantly changes to a nice sour aftertaste. Overall, an excellent beer.
ashot (2), Ontario, Canada does not count Oct 10, 2008 this is rather dard for traditional red beer. it has a perfect balance between sourness and rich fruity aroma. Rotorhead87 (111), Temple, Texas, USA Oct 9, 2008 This is my first sour ale.
Pours a dark reddish brown with a medium head. It immediately smells of vinegar, and also some fruity notes. The taste is a pleasant surprise after the nose, in short, amazing! It has a rich fruity, but somewhat sour, flavor that I have never witnessed before. I am going to have to find more beers like this.
Highly Recommended! Dedoulequeen07 (116), london, Greater London, England Oct 8, 2008 Pours a chesnut colour with a thick off white head. Aroma: tart dark fruit, balsamic vinegar, cherry stones, and a bit of funk. Flavour: Combination of sweet fruity and sour qualities which i just luv luv luv. Cant believe i can get this locally now in london. Awesome and unsual a great palate cleanser between stouts and lambics. ATLBeerDog (195), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 7, 2008 Pours a dark rusty reddish color with a thick foamy head. Smells of tart cherries, apples, and fermented grapes. First sip is mellow with sours notes that are subdued and quiet, not “In your face.” Cherries, green apples, raisins, maybe a tad of brown sugar, all combining in flavor. Creamy mouthfeel, but slightly under carbonated. Considerably more sweeter than sour, the brew finishes well with a little stronger bitterness. Very Good. PaulHegedus (115), Brampton, Ontario, Canada Oct 5, 2008 Draught at City Beer, San Francisco, July 2008. Pours a brownish red with a wonderful, fluffy, aromatic head. The aroma is fruity and a bit sour. I taste caramel, dark fruit like cherry, some apple, raisin. Wonderfully sour and nicely balanced.
