As I recall, this was a tasty brew.
ditmier (173), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 20, 2008 2008 Bottle - Pours dark red with a sizable offwhite head...generous lacing, aroma is dominated by dry fruit, wood esters, apple...flavour follows, big oak up front, great tart fruit on the front end, turns cloying and sweet on the end, finishes like fruit juice, fleeting with only a bit of residual flavour and thins...very fun bottle to taste Bhops (182), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep amber brown with rocky head. Aroma was fruit and cherries and sherry smell. Flavor was thinner and dissipated more quickly than the aroma would suggest, but it was delightful. Very sweet but a lot going on. And at 6% it doesn’t knock you out. The Etruscan (260), Tuscany, Italy Aug 20, 2008 Light brown head. Dark amber colour. Aroma is malty with cherry, wooden and light sour notes. Flavor is malty with fruity, honey and light caramel and sour tones, ending in a sweet candy finish. Medium bodied. dpjuart (549), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 19, 2008 On tap at Falling Rock Tap House in Denver, 8/11/08. Pour brown with red hues. Nose is sweet and sour with lots of vinegar. Taste is sweet caramel with apple and cherry with mild vinegar and slight candy. Tasty and complex. mekju_baksa (1), Houston, Texas, USA does not count Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. Deep amber in colour but very sweet in taste. Thick and intense. I paired this beer with cold radish kimchi and it was magical. The deep cherry flavour mixed well with the slight kick of the kimchi... creating a strange (but good) mix of thick sweet and spicy flavours. Saved a little for after dinner and continued to enjoy. Best enjoyed slowly.
