Have had in bottle several times, once on draft that was hugely diacetyl, and now this recent bottle: Pours brownish-ruby with slight haze and lasting beige moderate head. Mild, aged balsamic vinegar, leather, and cherry aromas. Some caramel and prune notes with well-balanced moderate acetic, some lactic and cherry sweet malt flavors, leaning toward vinegar. Medium The rather sweet finish does give credence to the ’rumor’ that they backsweeten with aspartame (as does the subtle thickness to the back of the tongue that I feel around the third sip). There’s a latent dryness in which there’s oak and a hint of alcohol.

Bottle 0.25l. Almost clear, nice red color. AROMA- sour cherries and alcohol, cherries in liquer, cherries in chocolate, red wine. FLAVOR- sweet and sour, fermented, sour cherries, red wine. Medium to fuller bodied.
Just delicious.

Bottle 0.25l. Hazy deep red to brown body, without head. Amazing aroma of red wine, wood barrel, vinious tones, grapes, wine must, spices. Taste is very rich, moderate to high sweetness, pleasantly sour. Again wine, barrel, grape must, sugar-cane, licorice, spices, something medical (but not disturbing). Full body, medium carbonation.
Yeah, it’s my style, I like it so much!

Lovely brown-red color; dark prune juice. Aroma is dark grapes, musty basement funk, Flavor is an incredible combination of prunes, dark sugars, sour Brett funk, seeded strawberries, plums, sugared raisins, Feels slick and chewy, with a slight burn on the way down. Hides the alcohol well, but not completely. It’s just one of the most enjoyable beers I’ve had, consistently.

the aroma is a great powerful hit of vinegar, there is more there but i find it hard to recognize anything other than the vinegar. flavor is much the same but it transcends to a salty savory after the sweet vinegar has dissipated. it poured int a clear dark body with a creamy white head.

Bottle. Pours clear red brown with beige head. Aroma has caramel, wood, nutty notes and some sweet sourness. Taste is sweet and lightly sourness with complex winey character, with walnuts, dried fruit, wood and malt. A classic!

Refreshing, fruitful, aroma is slightly hoppy, color dark almost like stout, very fine sparkling almost like champagne.
