250ml bottle poured into a tulip glass. Clear deep red with a decent pink head. Perfumy nose, with sour cherries, marshmello, some wood and faint funk. Tart fruitiness, no bitterness, wheat tang, cherries. Dry, refreshing, alcohol well hidden, cool.

330 ml bottle from STLWill - thanks again, Will! 2004 vintage. Pours a clear reddish tea color with a small off-white head. Notes of cherry, leather, musty basement, cobwebs, oak, and fruit jam. Light-medium bodied, with low carbonation and a leathery, jammy mouthfeel. Not bad, given the age.

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet...bottle gushed violently upon opening which surprised me greatly. Beer poured into a duchesse glass, color is ruby red with a coarse white head that fizzled away. Aroma brings sour funk, cherry, latex, lots of phenols, barnyard...complexity is high but the aroma is kinda faint. Taste is sour, sour, sour and then an underlying sweetness to back it up. Bitterness is evident and the finish is tart. Palate...thin bodied, co2 very high, not balanced but doesn’t need to be. The finish is great. Overall, aside from the explosion mishap the beer is quite good. Seems to be more lambic like than usual though and the violent gushing might indicate something is up. Who cares though, beer is great!

Clear red not deep red , higher fizz than I imagined, fruity cherry, yeasty, woody, slight sour, almost wine like, a great alternative beer.

[Tap] Draught at Hopleaf in Chicago. Pours a deep red color with a quickly receding head. Cherry pie, vanilla and lightly sour aroma. Sweet and syrupy cherry character. Tart/sour hints are pretty subtle. Lively carbonation. Pretty good.
