3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From 9/22 notes. 750ml bottle pours semi clear dark ruby red with medium pink head. Nose is tart cherry, fruit, faint acidic, apple skin, strawberry. Mouthfeel is high carbonation and a touch syrupy. Taste is cherry, sweet, tart, fruit, jelly donut, cherry pie, jolly rancher, strawberry ice cream, cider, spices. Not getting a lot of barrel characteristics from this. Finish is sweet, mild tart, cherry, berries. Leans a hair more to the sweet side than the sour side. Solid mid-level kriek.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.2oz bottle from Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield. Clear dark ruby red color. Nice thin pink/white head. A few loose ropes of lace. Medium-plus body. Nice, full feel to it. Smooth, soft stronger carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Awesome cherry flavor, oak, and a bit of nuttyness and chocolate. Light spice. Pleasant, bigger tart taste. Light sweet. Very enjoyable belgian oaky cherry sour ale.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours fizzy and clear reddish amber. Some cherry aroma. Sweet-tart flavor with the emphasis on sweet, but not cloying. Lots of cherry flavor. Nice light desert.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
11.2oz bottle. Poured a deep, very dark but vibrant clear color with a foamy pink head. Aroma was mildly sweet, some sour, tart cherry notes. Flavor was sour cherries, tartness, some light malts. Pretty enjoyable, but not the best beer to drink at 1030 am for brunch. I’d go for this as a dessert.

33cl bottle a few years old sampled in São Paulo. Sweetened and smelling/tasting of vegetables. Not great! I expected more from reading the reviews

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted at room temperature and into a shallow chalice. A rough pour manages to lift a half inch of pinkish foam, but this is rapidly depleted to a wafer thin film atop a radiant, shimmering burgundy body. There is a perfume to this one reminiscent of rose scented nail polish remover. The alcohol is evident on the nose also, spicy and a little hot. Undertones of chocolate, caramelised cherries, toffee, marzipan and what could only be described as fresh baked pecan pie fill it out making it much more pleasant. Quite lively and sprightly on the palate. A bitter, herbal and almost weedy backdrop blends nicely with the tart, sourness of the cherries. Dominant chocolate and marzipan notes are quite odd but give it a dessert like, Black Forest Gateau type of flair. Alcohol doesn’t rate a mention and neither does the strange hint of nail polish remover of the aroma. Quite clean cut but not without little nuances of leather, drift wood and cellar must which linger between sips. Not overly sessionable stuff but a great aperitif. Quite nice! 3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a cloudy reddish pink from the bottle with bubbly reddish white head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet red fruits and sour lactic acid. Taste follows with a hint of metallic twinge. Not sure how I feel about this.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A very acidic and nice cherry flavored sour. Nice flavors of oak, cherry, and light pale malt that round out the tartness. Very balanced and impressive.
