Une couleurs ruby hallucinante. Une mousse rosée. Des arômes de kitsch et d’amande qui doit venir du noyau. Des notes boisées. Des notes acidulées très fines. Une bière très surprenantes.

Draft at Taphouse/Queensway. Ruddy red beer that delivers all the classic kriek characteristics, with a distinctly sour twist. My wife and I are huge Duchess fans, and this boils down to the wonderful Duchess with a bountiful and extremely well interlaced cherry character. Nice wild beer but mellow enough for anyone to enjoy! (#5325, 10/2013)

Bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours tiny hazy pinkish red with a thin frothy pinkish offwhite head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is tiny sweet, slightly sour and fruity with biscuits, sour cherries, moist wood, grape juice, red wine vinegar, raspberries, black cherries, marzipan, hay and dry soil. Taste is sweet, sour, tiny malty and fruity with sweet dark bread, sour cherries, cereal, sweet cherry pie, moist wood, lemon juice, lime juice, hay, lemon zest, moist soil, unripe raspberries, red currants and hints of barnyard. Mouthfeel is dry, tart and medium bodied. Finish is sour and fruity with sour cherries, hay, dry soil, moist wood, grape juice, lime juice, lemon zest, cherry pie, key lime pie and hints of unripe currants and raspberries. Tasty simple sour cherry beer. I liked this one a lot.

Pours a nice cherry red with a pinkish head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is mostly made or cherries and really fruity, but there is also some light vinegar on the back end. Taste is tart, sharply lactic. Mouth watering. Flavors of tart cherries with a really light sweetness in the back. Carbonation is medium, body too. Really refreshing!

From 9/22 notes. 750ml bottle pours semi clear dark ruby red with medium pink head. Nose is tart cherry, fruit, faint acidic, apple skin, strawberry. Mouthfeel is high carbonation and a touch syrupy. Taste is cherry, sweet, tart, fruit, jelly donut, cherry pie, jolly rancher, strawberry ice cream, cider, spices. Not getting a lot of barrel characteristics from this. Finish is sweet, mild tart, cherry, berries. Leans a hair more to the sweet side than the sour side. Solid mid-level kriek.

11.2oz bottle from Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield. Clear dark ruby red color. Nice thin pink/white head. A few loose ropes of lace. Medium-plus body. Nice, full feel to it. Smooth, soft stronger carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Awesome cherry flavor, oak, and a bit of nuttyness and chocolate. Light spice. Pleasant, bigger tart taste. Light sweet. Very enjoyable belgian oaky cherry sour ale.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2013 What a mess. Siropy and artificial try to make a fruitbeer. Very hard to call this thing beer in my opinion.

Pours fizzy and clear reddish amber. Some cherry aroma. Sweet-tart flavor with the emphasis on sweet, but not cloying. Lots of cherry flavor. Nice light desert.

11.2oz bottle. Poured a deep, very dark but vibrant clear color with a foamy pink head. Aroma was mildly sweet, some sour, tart cherry notes. Flavor was sour cherries, tartness, some light malts. Pretty enjoyable, but not the best beer to drink at 1030 am for brunch. I’d go for this as a dessert.
