Sour aroma with a hint of cherries, duh. See through red with a fine pink head that was gone by the time I finished drinking. A brief hint of sweetness that was followed up by the cherry sourness, and finshed with a bitter flare. A rather dry finish and some carbonation as well. Not too bad, but New Glarus is better.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear reddish colour with a cherry coloured head (suprise!). Lambic smell. Taste is mildly sour with vinigar notes. Slightly sweet. Cherry flavour is there but not as pronounced as one might expect. Slight wood. Dry finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A deep red color. The aroma is sour, with note of vinegar, and it definitely has good cherry notes to it. The taste is refreshing and dry with a sour cherry character. This would be a great beer to drink on a hot day. Fruity, but not at all cloying with a nice balancing tartness.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours deep ruby with a minor light pinkish hued head. Little carbonation with a good head. Aroma is vinous, along with a cherry tinge. Up front its very cherry, vinous, but towards the end it finishes rather quickly. Light oak tinge, but definitely not as complex as the Duchesse De Bourgogne. Sour/tartness on the aftertaste. Very drinkable, but could stand to have a bit more in the palate & flavor.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium red color. Small pinkish head. Aroma is tart, fruity and sour. A medium bodied kriek. Tart and fruity with a nice malt backbone. Acidic and a little harsh perhaps, but it does have a sort of lactic sourness to it. Nicely balanced. Very smooth. Light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2004 (Pizza Port Belgian Beer Party in Carlsbad, CA) Fruity, cherry flavor with a moderate amount of palate-cleansing tartness; Nice bit of maltiness in the background makes this very enjoyable and balanced, but perhaps too malty for a kriek; Tart, sweet finish after the malt is done; Sweet flavor, but dry and carbonated on the palate like Champagne; Malty and fruity nose; Gorgeous ruby red color with an off white head

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This kriek pours with a deep red body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. The aroma is surprisingly sweet and malty with notes of caramel and black cherries. The flavor is also sweet and malty with black cherry notes and some caramel notes. Where is the tartness? Medium bodied and slightly dry.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
red tinted transparent amber with a thin sheet of big bubbles...subtle malt drenched cherries, lightly metallic, not overly sour or even really sour at all..non-sour cherry aroma. "Kriek" is misleading.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled: Dark amber coloured. Not much head. Sour cherry, some sweetness and a strange freshness dominate the nose. Grape, cherry, sweetness balanced by a light sourness makes a delightful flavour. Has a light cherrysweetness in the end, that again is balanced by a subtle and mild sourness.
