Bottled (BB 04/2007)
Clear golden color, white creamy head. Dry cardboard and peach in the aroma. Starts watery, carbonated, then butterscotch- even diacetyl kind of sweetness. Some alcohol in the finish, faint grassy hops. Dissapointing Christmas beer.

A clear, golden ale with a good, lacing head. A fruity and yeasty aroma with hints of apples. Sweet and fruity flavours, some spiciness. Good carbonbation. An average, good Belgian blond.

(Bottled) Very clear, golden color with a smallish but tight head. Very mild, dryish apple-cidery aroma with some Duvel character, and yeast. Quite hoppy and bitter, somewhat acidic and slightly sour flavor with smooth maltiness in the background. Bitter, but still quite smooth and malty mouthfeel with soft carbonation. A quite nice, dry and somewhat Duvelish brew, although I canít see the Christmas connection here...

UPDATED: APR 30, 2006 Was a little different in name. So, maybe can be difficult to find here. It was a little soft, but very good in flavour. Dark too.

Dorqui (2110) - Brescia, ITALY - DEC 9, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 16, 2007 Bottled 0,25L. Compact and adherent foam, good persistence. Yellow/orange much fraught color; lightly fizzy. Enough stable. Rich and complex scent; notes of sweet malty and cellar, light talk of must and clear withered grape. Pungent taste, much alcoholic and mellow. It seems aged and enhanced of aromas. Long and sweetish final. Overbearing and long-lasting alcohol.

Golden colour with nice white head. Aroma is a little spicy and a little fruity. Sweet in flavour and malty. some bitterness and hints of spices too. You can also feel the high alcohol.

(Bottle 25 cl) Golden beer with a nice, white head. Sweetish in the beginning but a fruity freshness balances thing very well. Not very full-bodied or bitter. Another very unusual Belgian Christmas beer - nice that they vary so much in style. 260198

An amber beer with a nice off-white head. The is quite complex, with notes of spices, coriander, yeast, caramel, wood, as well as slight alcohol. The flavor is a bit dusty, form the spices, where coriander are most dominant, but it also contains notes of yeast and caramel, the dustyness keeps on being present thruout giving it a dry end. After awhile the alcohol burns thru leaving some warmth.

Bottled, at Essen Kerstbierfestival 2004. Gold, low white head and gentle condition. Sweet caramel and fruity esters in the aroma, low sweet graininess in the mouth and short sweet malty finish.

Bottle brought back from Belgium in September. Into a Duvel glass this was golden with a nice fluffy head. Aroma is malty and fruity but also very sour and unpleasent. The first taste isnít quite as bad as the aroma would suggest - but itís not great. Sweet and malty, fruity sour and bitter. Plenty of off flavours. Itís a shame that Belgian beers are so hit or miss, as well as the posibility of them being brilliant there is always the posibility that they will be very poor. I guess that this isnít actually so bad - itís drinkable if nothing else.
