3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled: Yellow coloured. Has a white head. Sweet and malty aroma. Has some spices in the flavour. Light malty and fruity. Has a sour and acidic aftertaste. Quite refreshing, but otherwise nothing great.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Totally clear, colour of old gold; yellowish small, but rather stable head. Sweet, honey, mannah aromas, with hints of lactic acid and lemon zest. Dry taste, rather spicey (coriander), but obviously missing the wheat character of a witbier. Dry mouthfeel, with a persistent burning sensation, part malt, part alcohol. I do not think there's been a style description for Christmas ales anywhere, but would there ever be one, I don't think this would fit. In character, it is a strong spiced lager with a touch of Oud Bruin in the nose.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Smell is okay, malty sweet and fruity. Clear golden coloured, short head. Taste is weak, sweet and dirty. Verhaeghe can do better.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
pale color (a surprise), nice head. Slightly sweet, but a little tartness in aroma and taste. Disappointed.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JUL 15, 2003 A strange one. Aroma is a mixture of shortbread, sweet n' sour sauce, with some lemon. Pretty nice texture, except for that slight sourness that feels a bit out of place to me. Mild, fairly pleasant, savoury. But doesn't taste quite right. I had higher hopes.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear blond beer with a medium creamy head. Weak slightly sour, hoppy aroma. Slightly sweet-sour start with a light bitter finish. Unfortunately there is a light metallic taste to this beer.
