2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Frothy white head, clear dark yellow body. Sweet and rather cloying aroma of yeast, fruit and sugar. Apricot and peach tones. Flavor starts sweet but turns very harsh and bitter, I think something must have been wrong with this one?! Some fruity notes.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Golden color. Grass aroma, paper, plastic, salame. Strong body, but too grassy, non interesting. Not really aromatic, but at least strong final.
Unexpected bad beer, by Verhaeghe!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled, BB 05-2003. Clear golden coloured, beautiful big head (at least in my champagne glass). Aroma of a sweet white wine, but with less alcohol. Quite nice actually. Sweet malty flavour. I liked this one.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden color, frothy head. Malty peararoma. Just a bit dusty. Firm hopbitter flavor. Some caramel and pear. Strong bitter and metal aftertaste. Just a bit alcoholic. Not bad, but the metal annoys a bit.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Totally clear, colour of old gold; yellowish small, but rather stable head. Sweet, honey, mannah aromas, with hints of lactic acid and lemon zest. Dry taste, rather spicey (coriander), but obviously missing the wheat character of a witbier. Dry mouthfeel, with a persistent burning sensation, part malt, part alcohol. I do not think there's been a style description for Christmas ales anywhere, but would there ever be one, I don't think this would fit. In character, it is a strong spiced lager with a touch of Oud Bruin in the nose.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Smell is okay, malty sweet and fruity. Clear golden coloured, short head. Taste is weak, sweet and dirty. Verhaeghe can do better.
