Soy saucy acidic-malt aroma, coffee. Red copper brown clear with thin off-white head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts tngy sweet, like vinegar-sugar mix. Light thin taste, saccharin sweetness and light lambic notes. Don’t care for it. Wet fur after.

Bottled. Reddish brown. Sweet with notes of raspberries and loads of saccharine. There’s some acidity, but the sweetness very much takes the upper hand, leaving an unbalanced impression.

Dark red, aproaching brown with a fluffy, tan head. Sweet and sour aroma of cherries, alcohol, sacchrine, and perhaps a bit of lactic acid. Far too sweet with no substantial sour character and no wood. The body is alright, but perhaps a bit thin. The flavor is just dominated by the sweetness. I get the impression that there is decent sour beer in this, but all hope has been killed by the sweetness. I wish I was able to enjoy this more, but alas, no such luck.

Brown color with an offwhite head. The taste is an overwhelming sweetness and a complex fruity and malty taste pattern. Very nice. Thanks Jacob for letting me taste this.

This is the rare tafelbier of Verhaeghe. Because Duchesse De Bougogne was awarded best wedding beer at the Danish Beer Festival 2004, I got a case of this and the Duchesse for free by the brewer when I visited Karakterbierweekend in Vichte. Very pleasant acidic aroma. The flavour is Very sweet and malty with wort notes and some acidity in the background.Full bodied considering the low ABV.
