Scauca (233), Lovere, Italy Aug 26, 2008 deep burgundy with almost no head but a thin tan foam on top. The aroma is of ripe red fruits and slightly vinous, with some spices as well. Starts quite sweet, fruity, developing in a nice mellow acetic tartness. Good. ha1ag (233), Netherlands Aug 23, 2008 Bottled in Take oNe in Maastricht. Dark ruby and brown color, thin beige head, port nose. Aroma has fruits and port. Reminds me some sour ruby port. Aftertaste is like Shiraz redwine. Interesting, well composed beer. TURDFERGUSON (1125), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Aug 19, 2008 Bottle shared by emacgee. Thanks Ethan! Nose is strong cherry vinegar and wood. Flavor has a lot of wood character, some sweeter cherries, balsamic vinegar, a bit of raisin. Its not incredibly sour and just wasn’t very exciting for me. Not my favorite type of sour ale.
