3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very, very deep red to brown body with a beige head, ok lacing. Strong aroma of vinegar, balsamic vinegar, sweet and sour fruits and red berries, and a hint of barnyard. It’s mostly sweet, accompanied by a fitting light acetic and sour taste. Moderate flavour of vinegar and tart, sweet and sour red berries. Light body, long finish, smooth texture and moderate carbonation. A gentle and drinkable sour.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This pours a dark brown color with a foamy light brown head. The aroma is mild of sour hints. The flavor is tart similar to a lambic without the fruit flavor.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear reddish caramel brown colour, white head. Aroma of red fruits, lactic acid, cherries, wood, citrus. Sour flavour, quite sweet, caramel, red fruits, 7-up. Sweet finish, lactic acid, wood, vanilla, red fruits. Interesting brew, but too sweet imho. Regardless, it’s nicely thirst-quenching, and I wouldn’t mind drinking this on a warm spring day in the sun, for sure it’s better than a soda.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reddish brown under a thin tan head, medium aroma intensity of roasted malt, sweet fruit and spice. Decent carbonation, quite high acidity, medium body roasty brew with obvious vinegar and sweet catchup. Sweetness overweight on the sweet-sour balance. Decent length and probably well-suited for some food, but not a favourite for me. Can’t shake the feeling of basically a Duchesse de Bourgogne with some sweetner.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice and very mild one with some acid and fruit in the aroma. Easily drinkable with some cherries and bread on the tongue. Expected a bit more sourness towards the end but the lack of it had some advantages and disadvantages. Fine one for sure.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from trade with Calisky - many thanks! The beer pours out in a beautiful dark red - dark brown colour with steady low head and medium to smooth body. Wonderful arome of red wine, vinegar and berries. Taste of wine, plums, raspberries, mild balsamico vineggar, gentle acid, green nuts, prunes and light barley. Finish of wine and mild vinegar. Highly enjoyable - wonderful beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Classic Flemish red, like Rodenbach, with light beige, creamy, sticky, stable head and dark burgundy colour, hazy. Tart and estery aroma, passion fruit, apple, honey, elderberries, balsamic vinegar, oak, vanilla, madera... Vivid in the mouth, with a sparkling dialogue between honey- and almost candi sugar-like sweetness on the one hand and a sharpish, tart, vinegary acidity on the other hand; the latter creates a vinous, sour dryness, with woody tannins in the background and a finish where the sweet and sour come to close harmony, though the sweetness is slightly dominant - but less so than in their Duchesse de Bourgogne. Wonderful and very authentic, traditional example of the oud bruin style.

4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle 25cl. Clear but very dark red brown color, initially huge bubbly tan head, sizzles down to a thick layer, decent lacing; sour fruit nose, cherries, raisins, oak, cinnamon notes; taste mild sour and sweet, cherry, plum; medium body, tingly mouthfeel, bit woody, lively carbonation, sticky texture; fruity and dry sour and sweet finish, hints of bitterness, bit spicy, oak notes. Nice Belgian brown!
