A big bitter 77 IBU India Pale Ale, spiced with a blend of fragrant Magnum, Simcoe, and Cascade hops. An American IPA receipe designed by our late Brewmaster, Greg Noonan. He said that he wanted this to represent the American style IPAs being brewed by the creative brewers using todays malt and hop varieties.

Tap @ Blind Tiger. Poured a hazy orange-copper color with a thin white head. Citrus and worty aroma. The flavor was worty with some citrus. There was a long earthy and bitter finish. Dry with a light-medium body.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Bitter hop aroma with light chocolate. Palate is thin and there is a lack of flavor other than hops. Pretty boring and typical brewpub fare.

Draught at the BrewPub: Floral hop aroma with notes of grapefruit and citrus. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Good lacing. Hazy. Medium bitter flavor. Hoppy, with notes of grapefruit and Cascades. Medium body. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Hoppy, but not bitter, finish. Not very bitter. No way itís the claimed 90 IBUs. Lacking in body.

On draft at Vermont Pub and Brewery, Burlington. Poured copper with minimal head. Piney, citrus nose. Lots of typical IPA hoppiness. Overly bitter, so much so that it takes away from the beer.

Clear straight golden ale with a nice haze. Surprisingly not as aromatic as I would have anticipated. The menu claims this beast at 95 IBUs. While you can figure out some white grapefruit and floral characteristics, itís in mouth that everything happens. I say everything, but its maltiness remains rather tame and could never defend the thesis of being of service to the hops. This beer is hop juice really. Strongly grapefruity bitterness with a hop leaf, almost piney, astringent feel from the maltís timidity - dry, dry, dry. Straightforward and not much to my taste Iím afraid.

(draught at the brewpub) pale gold with slightly off white head. Grapefruit/pine aroma. Flavor is a LOT of hops - pine and citrus. Iídíve called it an imperial IPA.

On tap at pub: Earthy hoppiness and one dimensional maltiness, some caramel and flowery hops; not terribly hoppy or bitter; decent.
