Oakes (6973), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 25, 2001 Malty accent, but balanced. Nothing too unusual for an Irish-style ale. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Apr 25, 2002 Updated: Feb 14, 2003April 02: Nice red-brown color, appropriately translucent; very well-balanced hop/maltiness; solid everyday beer but unspectacular. The pub's most popular draft, I believe.
February 03: don't know if this beer has gone downhill or my palate is just "maturing" but I find it a little bland and thin now -- midpalate is ok but nose and initial taste are just not happening and the finish is also lifeless. Still better than average, but not by a lot. Clear red ale with frothy white head. Sweet and malty with a little bitterness to offset. Refreshing medium light body. Nice beer if perhaps a bit simple. On tap (Nov 2003). Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 5, 2008 A dark clear brown ale with a thin off white head. A musty butterscotch aroma greets you, followed by caramel and dust. In mouth, a lightly sourish irish ale, with no overwhelming butterscotch. On tap at brewpub, July 20, 2008.
