VTHopHead (700), Barre, Vermont, USA Apr 6, 2005 Draft at Pub - Poured out a golden yellow with a smal bright white head... good lacing. Aroma was not as strong as I expected, but what was there consisted of citrus hops mixed with malt and orange peel. Wonderfully bold Belgian yeasty flavor that was slightly sweet and fruity. Medium mouth feel. Finishes with mild hops, citrus (orange peel) and some alcohol. Thoroughly enjoyable. Nate (2255), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 5, 2005 Pale golden, slight haze, with white foamy lacing head. Mild orange aroma, sweet malty notes and some citrusy hop notes. Not a strong aroma but mild honey notes. Watery body with mild carbonation. Starts with mild acidic orange citrus tang, and has mild acidity throughout. Good sweetness. Has good honey taste, too, with mild floral hops. Finished with some wheat and mild coconut orange, mild alcohol. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Mar 8, 2005 Updated: Oct 3, 2007On draught at the pub, 3/5/05. Thick, glucose-like golden-yellow colored beer, with a small white head and light lacing. Aroma of blood oranges, astringent lemon-peel and some spicy yeast. Flavor is much better than the aroma, or so I thought, with a big dose of belgian yeast up front, mixed with sweet, curacao liqueur, light candied peaches and finishing with a citrus and alcohol sharpness that really tells its strength. Warming, with a medium-full body, and a smooth, drinkable texture. Vac (2253), San Diego, California, USA Sep 25, 2003 Pours with a clear golden body topped by a medium thick to thick white head with good lacing. Slightly sweet aroma with a slight spiciness. Not much for orange in the aroma, unlike what the name would suggest. Slightly sweet and slightly orangey flavor with a slight hoppiness. Not what I would call a "strong belgian ale", as they describe it. Medium bodied and smooth. Kaya161 (1129), Aspen, Colorado, USA Sep 1, 2003 Light golden colour. Slightly cloudy. Strange phenolic aromaand flavour to match. Thin, astringent palate. Light bitterness/spiciness, slightly metalic flavour. eh.....
