Ale_Drinker (1055), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jul 16, 2008 Pours reddish pink, dissipating head. Aroma is boldly of raspberries. Flavor is very dry, really no residual sweetness. Body is light. Refreshing. jmm635 (30), Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2008 Pours an interesting magenta color with almost no head. Very fruity smell, obviously raspberries. Tastes pretty much like bad raspberry juice - extremely fizzy for a beer. Couldn’t drink more than a few gulps. notalush (1971), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Aug 5, 2007 Tap at the brewpub - they were out of the spuyten duyvil, so I ordered this - "oak aged? sounds good." - wrong - looks and smells like artificial raspberry flavor and sugar - the flavor is thin, tart, and uncomplex, tasting kind of like unsweetened raspberry soda - some slight fruit skin notes come into play, but mostly this uninteresting, bordering on a drain pour. hophead75 (1629), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Apr 12, 2007 sampled at the brewpub. Very red in color, with a small off white head. Aroma is fresh rasberries and that is about it. Taste is tart fresh rasberries, tart, with a lightly tart and fruity finish. Not complex at all, but still tastes ok. red éric (1379), montréal, Quebec, Canada Aug 11, 2006 Sampled at the brewpub, reddish color, with a ring of white head, intense raspberry nose, with a hint of almondy pit, with a juicy tart raspberry and wildberry jam aroma follows through on a medium-bodied tart palate with a juicy acidic and tart raspberry fruitiness character, sharp bitter almondy pit note, leading towards a mild raspberry fruity tartness finish, lack of complexity.
