2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 VTHopHead (1331) - Barre, USA - FEB 21, 2010
Draft at the brewpub - poured a cloudy brown in color with a small light tan head. Aroma is very malty and sweet with hints of peated malts. Flavor is just way too sweet fro me. Heavy clinging sweetness... over the top. OK, but not my favorite.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rodenbach99 (1742) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - APR 28, 2011

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden deep orange to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted breadish malty, slight toffee note. Sweet malty, breadish and caramelish. Bitter and dark malty finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lubiere (6707) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 8, 2010
A dark reddish copper ale with a thin white head. Light fruity esters in aroma, with smooth caramel. In mouth, vinous notes with cobwebs, sweet caramel and treacle, musty, like an aged version. Not bad but not stellar. On tap at brewpub, Jan. 11 2010.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ChazyRPh (577) - Chazy, New York, USA - JAN 30, 2007
sweet aroma - malty presence. Disinfectant flavor, smokey, sweet. Minimal alcohol presence. Sweet, otherwise uninspiring. Disappointing.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 rederic (2265) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 16, 2006
Dark mahogany color, with some reddish highlights, and an off-white head, strange graininess nose, candied cherryish note, sweet caramelized malt, toffeeish aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with an awful cough syrup character, with a cherryish fruity accent, a touch of spiciness, good maltiness, leading towards a sweet fruity malty finish. Too sweet for the scottish style.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 Glouglouburp (4558) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 4, 2006
Dark mahogany body, medium off-white head. Malted to the extreme, malt, malt and more malt. Not exactly a complex beer. To me the beer felt and almost tasted like a sweet cough syrup. Heavy is for the body, Wee is for the quality.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DYCSoccer17 (2734) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 20, 2006
On tap. Unfortunately, only in a 3oz sample. Mildly roasted, smoked, peaty aroma with some hints of maple syrup in the nose. Some alcohol is also present in the aroma with a weird minty quality as well. Light amber color that is transparent with a small light khaki-colored head. Should be darker. Sweet, fruity, estery start with some booziness and more caramel maltiness that is sweet in the middle. Has a strange mustiness that is a little less than appealing.
