Bottle at Kingcecils Birthday Tasting. Pours green (!!!!) with a bubbly light green head. The aroma is very herbal with some wheaty notes. The flavour is artificial herbal in an undefinable way. Strange!

Clear 33cl rip-top bottle:BBD 3 Jan 16.Shared on 28 April 15 at the Shrewsbury Bottle Swap meeting: cheers Mat for bringing this and not having any yourself, so split between 4 of us. Lime green with a white topping that soon dissipated. Herbal, fizzy lime cordial, the colour dictating my nose and taste senses so I couldn’t get passed the limeness of the beer. Interesting, but really my thing.

330ml bottle. Pours a spring grass green with a sweet, herbal aroma. Taste is far-removed from beer, more like a sweet fizzy Panda Pops-style drink. No detectable alcohol present. Overall it’s not too bad, certainly drinkable if a little medicinal. I’ve never tried the Genepi it’s claiming to be made with, and no doubt I’ll probably not like it, but I wouldn’t say no to this again.

Rare pale green colour with a thin head. Looks nice. Light herbal and malt aroma Taste is more than a soda than a beer. Soft herbal taste and poor malts Dificult for being love at first sight. Only for locals an lovers of génepi.

Clear green colour with a tiny white head. Pencil, lime and some herbal notes in the aroma. The flavour is pencil, herbal notes and some sweetness. Not undrinkable but a treat either. I’m not familiar with the Génépi so I can’t say much about that relation.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2015 330ml served in a tumbler. A: As far as I can remember, that’s the first time that I drink a green beer... Well, it pours a pale and clear green color (absinthe like) forming a small white head that dissipates quickly forming and leaving very few lacings in the glass. S: Smell is also "unusual", it’s quite grassy with strong notes of Génépi (something like a mix of chamomile and mint). Some notes of pale grains can also be felt. T: Taste is really the worst part of it. Too sweet. It tastes like a low quality Lager beer tempered with drops of mint syrup (or maybe that’s exactly what it is). Besides, no bitterness :(. Metallic notes in the end. M: Very light body. Medium carbonation. Mint aftertaste. O: VERY low drinkability. Blindfolded, I wouldn’t call it a beer... Let’s make a deal here, if we don’t drink this beer, we will save the water from the glaciers, right? Noble cause meets no waste of time! ;-) [ BA Review @ 10/25/2010 ]
