3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This pours a cloudy medium brown color with a small head. The flavor is slightly sweet and vinuous. Considering that it is 8% ABV, it is extremely drinkable. A big thanks to my secret santa for this one.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks John! The beer pours to a nice coppery bronze colored body with a creamy white head. The aroma is nice with lots of rich maltyness and some sherry and paper. Unfortunately a bit oxidized in the aroma. The flavor is papery malts and sherry. Also, unfortunately a bit oxidized.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is slightly acidic and metallic and dusty - maybe in part because it is over the best before date. The aroma is also slightly acidic - a little like coughing medicin, and slight metal notes from the alcohol.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled: Amber coloured. Hazye. Beige head. Sweets and caramel in the aroma. Light sour. Sweet and syrupy flavour. Loads of sourness. Definately a bit old.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottled. Hazy amber coloured. Very unpleasant with notes of old bananas, midding, yeast and some sourness. Bad.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours brown with a nice tan head. Smell is a little off (maybe some light damage), but taste is still vibrant and hoppy with some nice plum, rasberry, apples, and buttery elements. I definitely miss this brewer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Chelmsford beer Festival, July 2005. As this is no longer brewed, I thought I had better try this when the opportunity arose. Unattractive, sludgy brown colour. Sweet Belgian hop aroma with antiseptic undertones. Soupy and yeasty on the palate. Sweet and sour at the same time. Odd yet strangely appealing.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "Biere des Fagnes Rousse". Reddish brown, hazy, with an impressive head, that never settles completely. Sweetish start with an odd, short, dry finish. Full-bodied and quite pleasant with notes of licorice and orange peel. 050102

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml bottle, unknown vintage (but more likely newer than older) and designated Vervifontaine Red.
Sweet, fruity aroma, mildly spicy, with hints of plum, red grape, dark brown sugar, faint banana esters and suggestions of old leaves and musty earth. Hazy reddish orange in color with a fine, creamy, subsiding head and sparse lacing. Flavor is likewise predominantly sweet and fruity, with big sugary and bready malts up front, the merest hint of cider found, followed by a burst of plummy fruits and finishing long and richly sweet. Palate is smooth and low in effervescence, body is soft and full. Very like an Abbey Dubbel in many ways. Not quite as impressive or interesting as the Blond, unfortunately, but still a good nightcap.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Extremely cloudy, very yeasty, with leathery/woody characters coming through, citrusy, felt a bit flat, and perhaps the bottle we had was a touch past its best.
