2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle (One Pint Pub, Helsinki)
Rich brown, large beige head. Quite a full heavy stodgy brun aroma, some sweetish esters, but dirty and dusty too. Slightly messy palate. Odd seedy nuttiness, strange sweetness and weird cheap dark choocolate roast. slightly slick palate, but crisp carbonation. Ends with the burnt roast, some liquorice clearer now. Adequate at best, messy at worst.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Brown bodied, stable head. Typical Belgian tripel/strong ale aromas with spice, alcohol, herbal hops, dark fruity yeast and perhaps a woody cacao feel. Bit bitter, simple dark malts, yeast is prominent and typically (and quite boringly) Belgian. Boring rating for a boring beer. Like the label though! (33cl bottle from Dranken Geers, I think)

33cl bottle shared at DSG and jsquire tasting at Chrisí.Pours a cloudy amber with good carbonation and a medium head. Good aroma, citrusey with hints of alcohol, bread and malt. Taste is sweet and somewhat citrusey, the high alcohol content is well disguised. Itís got a nice balance but not overly complex.

Bottle, bought @ De Hopduvel, Gent. Pours clear deep red with a small, fizzy beige head. Aroma has fat caramel, candied apple, raisins, rye, light vinious. Fresh ripe plums. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has caramel, raisins, tartness, oak, mild vinegar. Quite chewy malts. Lingering dry and tart finish. Weird.
