330ml bottle (One Pint Pub, Helsinki)
Rich brown, large beige head. Quite a full heavy stodgy brun aroma, some sweetish esters, but dirty and dusty too. Slightly messy palate. Odd seedy nuttiness, strange sweetness and weird cheap dark choocolate roast. slightly slick palate, but crisp carbonation. Ends with the burnt roast, some liquorice clearer now. Adequate at best, messy at worst.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep mahogany bronze-hued body with a small white head. Nose is brown sugar, marzipan, nuts, nougat and hints of chocolate, caramel and rum. Taste is dried fruits, raisins, marzipan, chocolate and hints of caramel, toffee and brown sugar. Medium body, medium to high carbonation. Quite pleasant BSA, without being overtly convincing in any way.

Bottled. Deep ambery brown colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is mild roasted notes, quite sweet caramel, toffee as well as a bunch of spices along with a slight alcoholic sweetness to it. Flavour is very similar in a good balance. Quite a bodied and nice beer for once. Tasty with the spices and yeast giving it a nice kick.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2015 33cl bottle served in a Delirium Noel glass. Pours a dark, cloudy brown colour with a moderate head which lasts reasonably well. Aroma is very hard to pick up but there is a feint hint of Belgian yeasty, estery notes. Taste is almost unique with having Grand Cru and Dubbel qualities. Medium mouthfeel with a subdued malty, spicy taste which would clearly age well. Well balanced but just a little underwhelming.

DAA; Bottle 33cl. Pours dark brown to with fading, creamy, lacing tan head. Nose is intense malt, roasted, caramel, dark ripe fruit, light yeast, chocolate, wood, grass and spice. Taste is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a sweet, warming, moderate to long lasting, spice finish. Body is medium, mostly full, texture is sticky thick, carbonation is average. Candy, fizzdelicious.

Dark brown color, light tan head. Aroma of lactic acid, caramel, plum. Taste is rather sweet with notes if dark chocolate and caramel, and a slightly astringent finish. A bit disappointing compared with the initial aroma, somehow lacks of deepness. A decent brown beer though.

33cl bottle. Clear dark amber colour with an off-white head. Caramel, spices, malt, yeast, liquorice, molasses, syrup and slightly medicine in the aroma. Average to soft carbonation and medium body. Taste is complex but slightly ruined by the medicine finish. Overall, still don’t know if I liked it or not.

Verzet’s third beer, a dubbel with a Canadian ingredient which appears to be maple syrup. Light beige, stable head, deep coppery bronze colour, clear. Perfumed aroma clearly drenched in maple syrup, candi sugar, honey, pineapple, overripe plums, candied figs, cognac, sweat, pears. Very fruity, sweet taste of candi and honeyish sweetness, clear maple syrup again, very resinous, bitter sweet with a somewhat wry and cloying finish. Strange - and I don’t like maple syrup that much.

Een bier met een heel bijzondere smaak, maar het was spijtig genoeg niet mijn ding.
