Dark brown to light black, small tan head. Aroma is winey, wild, dark fruits, some roasted malt and oaky whisky. Taste is medium- sweet malt, roasted, dark fruits, winey, medium- sourness, oak, bit bready, some chocolate. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Sourness not needed and brings the whole experience down...

Muddy dark brown pour with a lively tan-coloured head with decent retention. The smell is very lambic-like, sour and funky, with a little bit of vanilla in the background. The taste is quite underwhelming - not quite as sour as the nose suggested, and not too bitter either, just kind of sweet. Notes of chocolate, coffee and molasses in the finish make things a bit better, though it’s still quite bland in the end. Medium carbonation and a neutral mouthfeel - neither smooth nor rough. A bit watery.

Sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2015. Opaque dark brown color, average sized beige to light brown head. Smell and taste malts, a slight tart hint, only slightly a hint of whiskey perhaps. Don’t like it. High fizzy carbonation, average body. Meh at best.

Bottle at the Essen Winter Beer Festival, 2015. Poured a murky dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is tart fruits, bitter malt. The flavour is light sour with a light malt, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a bubbly mouthfeel.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Dark brown, thin layer of foam. Nose of roasted malts and caramel, some tart notes. Light sweet, bitter finish. Bit unbalanced. Ok.

Pours a dark, black and red color, with a beige head. The taste is a bit tart mixed with a roasted, coffee-like aroma. But the lack of balance between these flavors ruins it for me. A bit of a disapointement.
