Pours dark with light brown foam, pretty stable. Smells earth, oak, slightly smoked and predominant acetic Taste is very complex with sourness very present, very dry as well, as excepted. The earth and oak are main aromas, but the stout character is still there behind : caramel, torrefied bitterness, Whiskey aroma is difficult to find. I liked the beer, but would not drink it on a regular basis.

Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Hazy brown with a beige mocha head. Nose of funk, wood, some fruit like berries, rotten wood, toast, light rubber, malts, caramel... Makes one think it might be infected, the taste changes that thought. Probably some wild yeast... Flavour is light spicy (disappears right away), malty, earthy, toasty, wood, funk, rotten wood, light bread, some wild tints, dark wood, little tart ish tint, not too good! Probably a mix of wild yeast and infection... Aftertaste is funky, malts, toast, gerbs and some wood. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied

The aroma reminds of "oud bruin" or geuze. The taste is not stouty at all, starts of sour, changes to a smokey whisky taste with notes of earth and turf, ends with a bitter note. Quite a weird combination

Bottle shared. Clearly not a stout at all, like dark sour with a whiskey coke edge. Weird to be polite...

Bottle. Dark brown muddy pour. Aroma of mild sourness, sweet whiskey, vanilla, ripe fruit and booze. Bit dusty flavor of old coffee, mild booze, red ripe fruit, malt and a mild tartness. Weird, needs more depth.

Dusty sourness. Is this intended? Roasted too, but thin. Taste had more of this, very oakey, sure, but dusty and quite thin. It’s the opposite of what I got to find in a stout. (375ml bottle from Etre Gourmet)

Bottle at home, unfortunately turned sour. Roast, green apples, dry, meh what a shame.

Bottle split at Cotts Convention 2, thanks to the Cotts team, 05/03/16. Mahogany brown with a decent tan hap. Nose is tangy dark fruits, spice, light funk. Taste comprises tangy drak fruit rinds, lactic tang, cocoa powder, earthy, light roast, wood must. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Average ... on the tarte side - deliberate?
