Bottled@HBF2015. Pretty much black colour, with a mediumsized brown head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is wood, some mild peated notes as well as some liquorice and mild wooden sourness to it as well. Flavour is liquorice, some wood, mild smoked notes as well as some burnt sugar and a mild sour wooden edge to it. Tasty, but I couldn’t figure out if the slight sour edge is a planned thing, or something spontaneous happening...

Cloudy brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy, fairly dry. Decent fine carbonation. Fluffy tangy dark malts, very tangy. Very fruity tangy whiskey. Tangy dark fruits. Whisper of vanilla. Dry finish finds the tang making me wince, yep we are in sour territory. Shame - there is a good beer lurking under this mess somewhere.

Leighton (18221) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 6, 2016
Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers! Pours unclear brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds apples, berries, carpet. Light sweet flavour, tangy, with more apple notes, damp wood, old fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Odd finish, with musty damp wood, dirty carpet, beat-up leather. Rough and rather poor.

Bottle split at Cotts Convention 2, thanks to the Cotts team, 05/03/16. Mahogany brown with a decent tan hap. Nose is tangy dark fruits, spice, light funk. Taste comprises tangy drak fruit rinds, lactic tang, cocoa powder, earthy, light roast, wood must. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Average ... on the tarte side - deliberate?

Benzai (13591) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - DEC 21, 2015
Sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2015. Opaque dark brown color, average sized beige to light brown head. Smell and taste malts, a slight tart hint, only slightly a hint of whiskey perhaps. Don’t like it. High fizzy carbonation, average body. Meh at best.

Scopey (12216) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2016
Bottle thanks to Shane at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. It pours opaque brown with a massive tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, tangy, fruit cake, plum, orange peel, sherbet and chocolate. The taste is crisp, decent roast, mild acidity, tangy, fruit cake, peach, tangerine, wood and a touch of alcohol. Medium + body and moderate carbonation. Quite interesting overall. Not bad.
