Bottle (375 ml). Hazy amber/brown with a small quickly vanishing beige head and little to no lacing. Aroma is soft with only moderate balsamic notes, red fruits, oak and light vanilla. Taste is of cherries, oak, mild acidity, hints of vanilla and light caramel. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Slightly dry and woodsy finish. Not the most complex Oud Bruin, but definitely on style and quite drinkable/enjoyable.

Nocturne (1273) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2014
Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels. Dark amber with light brown foam atop. Tastes earthy and tobacco-like with hints of tangy fruit, strawberries perhaps. Not quite the dark, smoky affair I expected. Lots of carb, pretty sour. Decent stuff.

Hazy brown, almost red, body with no head. Aroma has cherry, woody sweetness with sour background. Taste has high sourness, almost astringent, very dry, light malty sweet support. Body is full, high carbonation, very dry.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2015 From WLVL. A more dry and less sweet Oud Bruin. Better with food than stand alone. Not too puckery, winey mouth feel. Serving: Bottle

Following the waiters recommendation, I had this beer with my black pudding at Nüetnigenough. It combined very well with the food. I’m not sure if I would like it as a "stand-alone" beer though.

Red brown colour. Medium carbonation. Fruity aroma with notes of red fruit and vinegar. Also notes of green apple. Taste is sour with dry finish. The experimental oud bruin was better in my opinion.

Bottle @ The No Creepy Country Ticks Tasting, courtesy of JulienHuxely. Pours a murky hazy brown beer with a thin off white head on top. Aroma is sour yeast, dark molasses and loads of sweetness in there. Flavor however, is light sour and malty at the same time. Dry mouthfeel and has a dry finish. Mmmmkay, decent.

Bottle from Hopduvel. Hazy copper brown pour with thick frothy off creme colored head. Aroma is earthy, cherries, oaky, not acetic, light citric notes. Taste is citrusy, lemon/orange, tart, light malty sweetness, oak, earthy finish. Palate is full bodied and well carbed. Not your average sour red-brown, but quite tasty.
