yespr (6400), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 30, 2008 Handbottle thanks to faeroeviking/Christian. Pours slight murky brown (my pour did) with a mild redish glare. Almost no head. Sweet aroma, slight unfinished molasses and some strange earthy note. Flavour follows this closely with mild fruity notes but it is sticking sweet and some strange earthy flavour in addition. Sweet finish. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 4, 2008 (Hand bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of faroeviking/ChristianScheffel. Pours a dark brown with a tint of red. Tiny, tiny off-white head - probably due to the low carbonation from the handbottling. Aroma of sweet, roasted malt - but unfortunately also a fusty touch. Medium body with sweet, roasted malts and some notes of brown sugar. And again an earthy, moldy feel. The finish is mainly sweet, with only a vague hint of hops. Afraid this wasn’t completely clean. 301107 ChristianScheffel (2104), Odense, Denmark Dec 20, 2007 Dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Caramel, brown sugar and molasses dominate the aroma. Very sweet malty flavour with some molasses. faroeviking (4169), Faroese Beer Republic über, Denmark Dec 20, 2007 Hand bottled. Thanks Christian. Clear deep dark brown colour. Quite sweet malty aroma with dark fruits. The flavour is also quite sweet with caramel, roasted malt and dark fruits. Sweet roasty finish. Too sweet for my taste buds. thewolf (3651), Kolding, Denmark Dec 20, 2007 Tap @ Carlsens. Pours a very deep mahogany with a very nice and good-looking creamy off white head. It even has good retention! Sweet aroma with caramel and a weak dose of dried fruits. Okay mouthfeel. Initial impression of flavours is metallic, lots of it. But as the beer warms up, it gets better. Lightly sweet and a bit sugary cloying with caramel and a light roast peeping through. Very pretty beer, but that metallic edge should have been prevented.
