(1L bottle from brauhaus) Cloudy amber body with a thick off white head. Much much more yeasty than any other dunkelweizen I’ve ever had. The yeast flavor kind of reminds me of a belgian beer so this weizen is different. Smell is big yeast with some banana and clove. Taste is the same with good wheat notes. Enjoyable but not typical in my opinion.

Draught at the Vetter, Heidelberg, Germany. Hazy mid-brown color with a small off-white head. Yeast, wheat, dryness and grainy notes in the aroma. The flavor is dry malt, wheat, yeast and some papery notes. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours two fingers of head on a cloudy dark straw body. The aroma is barnyard and nutty. The taste is balanced mild bitterness with a tame sweet note. The texture is smooth. That is a nicely balanced dunkel.

300ml fresh vom fass, 4.8 % abv, at the brewpub. Muddy brown coloured body. Low, but stable, fawn-coloured head. Smell of sweet wheat and leafy hops. Flavoued with dark wheat, banana and caramel. Rather lingering mid-sweet ending. Has got moments of joyful beer drinking (Heidelberg 25.07.2014).

Big thanks to Nick and Clancy for bring this back! Pours a cloudy brown with an amber hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of sweet wheat, clove and a bit of dark grain to balance out the sweetness. Flavor has more of a dark bread note with some sweet wheat, banana and clove backing.

Fincsi, ízre talán a legjobb Vettel. Nagyon ízletes, igazi egyéniség. 5 csillagos.

Draught at the Brewpub. It pours cloudy brown with a small beige head. The nose is earth, toasty, bruised banana, wheat and caramel. The taste is caramel, toffee, wheat, toast, banana, sultana and banoffee pie with a dry, somewhat earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth, rounded and pretty easy-going.

On draught at the brewery. Extremely cloudy, like very muddy water. Nose: in Dutch I would say "puttekesgeur" (unpleasant sulfur element, stale water) and something metallic. Taste: actually much better than the nose suggested. Surprisingly pleasant. Wheat of course, banana, caramel and a hint of mango. Overall: the nose was very off. I can’t imagine this is what the brewer intended: something must have gone wrong with this beer.
