(1L bottle from brauhaus) Cloudy amber body with a thick off white head. Much much more yeasty than any other dunkelweizen I’ve ever had. The yeast flavor kind of reminds me of a belgian beer so this weizen is different. Smell is big yeast with some banana and clove. Taste is the same with good wheat notes. Enjoyable but not typical in my opinion.

Erdnussig hopfiger Beginn, minimale Säure. Etwas herb, süffig, mäßig intensive Malzigkeit. Trockenes Finish. 11/9/9/9//9

The head is medium, the body brown and cloudy. The taste is yeasty, darkmalty. Overall good but a bit too yeasty. 11/11/10/10/-/11

31/VII/2012 - on tap @ Vetter Brauhaus (Heidelberg) - BB: n/a - (2012-794)

Cloudy muddy red brown beer, beige creamy head, unstable, pretty adhesive. Aroma: quite some overripe banana, milk chocolate. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: ripe banana, bit sweet, sugary touch, little bready, brown sugar, almost caramel, little sourish. Aftertaste: bitter hops, caramel, banana, pretty dry ending.

cloudy brown color, some eastery notes, but as exciting as the hell, which is to say not very much.

1 liter bottle filled from the Brauhaus. Appearance is dark caramel color with a little, bubbly head. Aroma is sweet malts, roast grains, and some banana. Taste is weak with roast malts, some citrus, and faint banana. Palate is hugely disappointing - medium-bodied, watery texture, flat carbonation, and almost zero finishing. The weak palate killed this beer.

Enjoyed on tap while eating the best Bratwurst of a recent trip to the Baden-Wurttemberg region of Germany, of course at Vettrs in Heidelberg on a beautiful mid 70s day. I didn’t take notes during this one, but I remember it being pretty good. Standard dark cloudy brown appearance, taste went down a little too quickly. Good good stuff.

seriously? 44? are you kidding? Sampled at the source, dark coulor, very cloudy, smells of dough and a bit fruity. Appearance perfect for the style! Very tasty, medium sweetness, a bit heavy palate, easily one of the best dunkler weizen I´ve tasted

Draught @ Vetter Alt Heidelberger Brauhaus, Steingasse 9, Heidelberg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany 69117.

Murky medium grey amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, caramel, moderate yeasty, fruity, banana notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100927]
