The Christmas beer from Viborg Bryghus is called ”Jule Bocken”. It’s inspired by south German and Austrian wieners. It’s brewed over open fire, which gives it’s pronounced malt flavour, that together with a well balanced hopping makes Viborg Jule Bocken a beer, that can be enjoyed at all times, smooth and mild. The ABV and a strong carbonation makes it ideal for fat fish and

Dark amber colored with little yellow head. Spinach dominates this aroma with berries and sourness. Medium bodied. Flavor starts with sweet berries and caramel, aftertaste turns to drier with with slight lingonberries still. Somehow safty palate. Alcohol is covered finely, only thin tone in aftertaste. Not too bockish one.

500 ml bottle. Slightly hazy reddish body with a small, disappearing off-white head. Vague aroma, a bit sour. Flavor is malty and sour, probably coursed by diacetyl. Some hops in the finish. Could be so much better.

Bottle, bought @ Tuscan Vine, Haderslev. Pours a pretty, clear dark brown-red with a small fizzy head that quickly disappears. Aroma is sweet, quite fruity with some strawberries mixed with caramel. Nice enough mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, lightly spicy with a clear vinious streak to it. There is a nice hoppiness, a slight feeling of cardboard, but not too much. Good caramel sweetness overall. Nice.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and beautiful golden red with a lacing off-white head. Classic bock aroma with a mild spice note. Flavour is clean barley and smooth spiced. Light metallic and caramel malty flavour. Sweet and slight spice note lingering nicely together. Ends with a mild barley and caramel malt sweetness. Nice.
