COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Viborg Scottish Ale is true to the style with it’s slightly smoked malty caramel flavor and a buttery after taste that is especially pronounced because it’s brewed using an open fire in the old Scottish tradition. Because of the 7,6% alcohol it’s classified as a Wee heavy. For food Scottish Ale is nice with fish. Top fermented and cellared in 6 weeks.

pivnizub (7989) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - DEC 30, 2007
Bottle: Hazy, chestnut-amber coloured, quite stable creamy off-white head, aroma of sweet caramel, dried fruits with a tinge of hops; solid sweet-bitter flavour with a light acidity; sourish-fruity finish with a touch of roasted malt and a light, but distinctive bitterness in the aftertaste. Still good, but shy signs of an infection are detectable........

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy amber and with a dense light brown head. Slight fruity aroma and with a solid level of brittish aroma hops, slight spiced. Flavour is slight smoked, caramel malt and with a slight acidity. Ends slight acidic, infection?

Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Average beige creamy head that mostly lasted. Light cloudy brown color. Fair display of lacework. Grain, caramel, hint of bread maybe hint of smoke. Over the palate some roasted malt and sour notes. Was this infected or was this on purpose. Light bodied with a soft carbonation. Light sour flavour. Light sour finish.
