Bottle. Very dark brown with an off white foam. Aromas are earthy coffee with liquorice and light berries. Peppery dark chocolate with hints of lemon. Flavours are dry coffee with cola and earthy notes. Blackberries with a yeasty finish and dusty dark chocolate. Not bad.

Almost opaque dark red - brown beer, small tan head. Palate is dry and crisp. Thin dark malts but full of earthy coffee and roast. Light touch of tangy dark fruits. Whisper of esters. Dry roasty finish. Fairly robust dry porter.

Cask at the Rockstone, Southampton. Pitch black with a loose beige head; smoky aroma with a trace of bacon; soft purple fruit flavours to start then becoming rather thin in the mouth with some chocolate malts; and a dry, smoky, finish.
