4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Ebenezer’s
Hazy light golden color with a smallish white head. Slightly tart with a solid honey and light sugary malt base. This blend is interesting and it works quite well for my tastes.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light vinegar aroma. A bit sweet. Pours cloudy gold with a small but we’ll retained head. Taste has both the sweet blend with the sour cutting in and balancing it. As a result it’s kind of muted if you think of it as a tripel and bright as a sour. It’s interesting, but also a bit weird. It feels like it’s pulling in two directions.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft pour at Brouwers Cafe as part of the sour fest. Pours a cloudy, apple juice like color. Not nearly as sour as expected. More sweet and fruity. Apple flavor with a grainy finish. Very tasty though, refreshing, and easy drinking. Semi dry, fruity finish. Good beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Klooster. Pours hazy golden orange with a white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, dank cellar funk and fruits. Flavor is light moderate sweet, acidic and bitter. Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation. A weird sour triple.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Slightly hazy golden in color with s frothy white head. Barnyard, sour wheaty notes, some tart apples and bit of lemon in aroma. Sour notes in taste with some funkyness and citrus mixed with spicyness. Interesting brew here, the funky part makes this quite refreshing and then there’s that nice garden fruity side backing it up. Wooden and sour fruity notes in aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 9, 2015 Blend of Vicaris Tripel with the (filtered white-label) Girardin Gueuze, golden blonde with malt sweet an fruity flavours of the tripel nicely balanced against the esters and tartness of the lambic. Interesting find, won the consumer’s prize at Zythos Bierfestival 2007, but I would not go as far as to call this the beginning of a new beer type, blends of ales with lambics are an old Brabant tradition. Very refreshing though, both basic beers are mixed cleverly and support one another very well.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
33cl fairly priced (?older) bottle @De Capital, Leuven 08/2014. Original, long overdue crossover/blend recipe executed with near perfection: the base Vicaris Tripel is a rather new wave, dry and bitter tripel that can stand some Girardin (label: changed again back from Boon?) lemony tartness and certainly handles the funk very elegantly on top op its pollen-like bitters, gentle green pepper spice and citrus. Easy drinking due to a strange sort of profile void in the mid part, where it lacks the typical round fruity body of a BE tripel - near sessionable, on my list for buying more regularly if available. Lots of food pairing potential...
