750ml bottle. Gusher. Brown color with a Brown head, huge foam. Nose:alcohol perfume, wild yeast, very strong nose. Taste:malts, wild yeast, bit of iron /fry in the back. Good to too much carbonation, bitter taste with a sour hint, all in balance. Hmm, this is already an older bottle, had the limited edition before, can?t remember it was so distinct on the wild yeast. Definitely a surprise. But not fully convinced that this is what was wanted for. Odd.

Alengrin (2425) - BELGIUM - OCT 30, 2014
Vicaris Generaal in 75 cl bottles with lactic fermentation. Thick but quickly dissipating, yellowish beige head, pure bronze colour with copper hue, hazy. Complex aroma of walnuts, bitter chocolate, apple, white grapes, sherry, orange peel, wine vinegar, coffee powder. Fruity, sweet onset (pineapple, red apple), tart sour cream and dry sherry effect as in an oud bruin, deep nutty, caramelly, somewhat chocolatey maltiness, light roasted Scotch-like bitterness in the finish as in the regular version, with the drying tartness from the onset and some herbal hop bitterishness. Interesting.

Bottled@HBF2014. Approved by genraal? (very inside joke for a few raters...). Murky brown colour with a small creamy slightly off-white head. Aroma is mild sourness, sweet fruits, yeast, some spices and mild notes of alcohol. Flavour is very similar, but the sourness was more a kind of a lactic tone to the beer.

75cl bottle shared with S&G tasting group. APPEARANCE: HUGE GUSHER! Clouded dark blond beer, small unstable off white head. NOSE: wood, little sour. TASTE: caramel, high in carbo.
