Bottle at thirdeye11’s birthday party. Brown color with a tan head. Aroma is a mix if malt, yeast, dark fruit and candy sugar. Flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of caramel as well as some cherries and raisins, as well as some brown sugar. Pretty nice.

Bottled. Pours hazy red brown with a medium sized, creamy, beige head, leaving a fair lacing. Aroma of slightly roasted malt, chocolate, nuts and yeast. Sweet flavor that ens up more dry with some bitter notes. yeast. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft CO2. A very enjoyable dubbel. ★★★★

Tasted on 1/27/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle from the Rare Beer Club. Pours a very dark mahogany color with a very thick beige head that slowly recedes to super thick and rocky lace. The nose is malty but dry with cocoa nibs, some chocolate, cola, and vanilla. The flavor is the same, very dry with the cola notes up front, moving to the toasted cocoa nibs and a nice dose of roasted bitterness. The body is medium with lively carbonation and a long cola and bitter roasted finish.
