COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Translated from the Dutch on the brewery website.
Brewing process: Vicaris Generaal is made in three stages like the Tripel: warm fermentation at around 24°C, lagering at approximately 1°C and secondary fermentation in the bottle. The only difference between them is that the Tripel is brewed with one malt variety and Generaal with three. Vicaris Generaal is also brewed without spices.

- Ingredients: water, malt, sugar, hops and yeast.

- Tasting notes: Vicaris Generaal (8.8% ABV) is a red-brown warm fermented beer with a beautiful tinted head, conditioned in both bottle and keg. Generaal will mature in the bottle and is for the experienced beer lover. Generaal has a marked bitterness obtained by using roasted malt and hops. It is not a sweet beer.
- Available in 330ml and 750ml bottles and 30l kegs.

Note: Brewed by De Proef before their brewery opened in 2011.

Bardzo dobre klasztorne dubbel. Ciemne z liczna poswiata czerwieni. Zapach dojrzalych sliwek w czekoladzie. Troche porto ale nie wyczuwa sie alkoholu. Glebia smaku i tresciwosci. Piwo o sporej gestej i puchatej bezowej pianie. Polecam

33cl served in a Trappist glass. Pours a well carbonated dark brown colour with the best head I have seen - thick, foamy and off-white. The aroma is malty and warming. Tastes of coffee, malts and dusty chocolate - much like the Westvleteren 8. One of the best dubbels I have tried. Less fruity than a typical - say St. Bernardus Prior 8 - dubbel but no worse off for it. Try it if you can.
