750ml ($12.95) An extremely smooth abbey triple. The taste is comparable to most other high end abbey ales. a very well balanced beer and has little to no sediment. Fairly uncommon to find in the states so if you spot it try it out. I would buy again.

Surprisingly light to drink, if properly lagered quite clear, yellow - golden colour. Requires perfecly clean pints or else tastes like Leffe but even then keeps its a great apetizer. Very natural, didn’t experience any coriander.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2010 Very cloudy dark yellow to beige colour. Thick creamy head with very fine bubbles. A lot of fine gasbubbles. Sweet malty scent, hints of citrus and pineapple. Warm full taste, some alcoholsweetness, hints of pineapple, with a very nice bitter taste. Dry bitter aftertaste, very pleasant!

(Bottled) Hazy yellow-golden color with a large, bright white, foamy head. Nice, crisply lemony-hoppy aroma with bisquity malts and slight hints of alcohol. Sweetish-malty, lemon-honeyish flavor with light witbier-spiciness (orange-peel, coriander?) and hints of toffee. Medium to full-bodied, yet easily drinkable palate with balanced carboation. A very nicely balanced, clean and tasty tripel.

Brown 33cl dumpy bottle, best before 19 May 2011, poured into a Westmalle chalice on the afternoon of 18 Nov 2010. No sediment left the glass, so it looked as the brewer intended: a slightly hazey dull golden beer with a thin white covering for a head. The aroma was of freshly baked biscuits, Scottish Shortbread actually, made with butter! The taste was devine, sharp, crisp and flavoursome. Yeast overtones, biscuity (like the shortbread aromas) and semi-sour all at the same time. The alcohol lingering in the background giving the whole experience an extra edge. I really, really liked this beer. Not too sure how many different Belgian tripels I’ve had, certainly more than 20 anyway, but this is right up there with the best. I’ll be buying this again.

75 cl bottle. Yeast and pepper in the nose. There’s a slightly woody, smokey taste in the beer with a great warm alcohol taste. Great beer.

33 cl bottle at home into a tulip. Aroma is a subtle, sweet blend of yeast, bread and fruit (apricot?). Appearance - blond ale, tight white head. Taste is sweet as to be expected, but with a nice bitterness to follow. Medium bodied with an average carbonation makes this one slip down really easily. Long finish that is bitter but not overpowering. Overall I am impressed. In a world where tripels abound, this has moved into being right up there in my top few beers. Very nice indeed.
