3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled 33cl (Bier Tempel, vintage 2010)
Deep ruby color, huge cloudy beige head, lace. Aroma has licorice, plums and anise. Medium-bodied. Quite alcoholic brew. Sticky alcohol punch in the front, then hoppy bitterness, licorice with salty aftertaste, some spices and plums. Complex and intensive. Some similarities to Het Anker’s beers, but this is much stronger.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown beer, with a hugh off-white/light beige head. It holds nice, and sticks nice to the glass. The smell is decent: spices, sweet fruits and caramel. The taste is about the same, a bit metallic comes up, but it’s just slightly. The hops gets trough, the dark fruits, spices and sweet caramel are at the front row.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap (Erasmus, Bruges) 2009 edition, drunk 2011-01
7 Beautifully rich mellow roast aroma. Sweet and gently burnt. Later anis and caraway come through quite distinctly.
5 Black, large tight persistent tan head
8 Rich roasty retronasals, pleasantly fruity, some plum, some lighter fruits and lighter esters too. Stands up to the best Het Anker, so full, but so beatufully mellow.
5 Beautiful soft palate, very full, and with lovely pleasnt gentle carbonation.
16 The year of aging has helped mellow this beautifully. So much not a big beer, no hint of 10+%.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled@sayravai tasting. Deep ambery brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma is liquorice, spices, alcohol and stuff. First thing that came to mind was Gouden Carolus. Flavour is quite liquorice, some spices and mild wooden and alcoholic notes. Aroma is actually better than the flavour, which feels it’s still quite young. Still nice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottled, 0.75l) Dark brown with a small, lacy head. Strongly anisey nose with licorice and light Xmas spices. Flavor is mostly licorice and alcohol with added spices - not very balanced. Medium to full body, low CO2. Quite much like Gouden Carolus Christmas, but the flavor is not as balanced. 5247
