COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

Tap. Consumed against my will for losing a bet. Pour is actually fairly red to light amber. Not yellow. The head is miniscule, but present creating some faux detergent lace. Aroma is not terrible, just sweet, grainy, cheap, lackluster. Taste is quite interesting: it is actually bitter! But not a sharp, dry, hoppy bitter. Rather atop the thin seltzer body is a bitterness akin to metal filings, copper penny, plastic, and trash. After a few sips, the relative blandness is taken over by intense metals, blood iron content, and industrial waste dump. Quite an interesting taste that I will give a 2/10 because there are no apparent brewing flaws and it does not invoke a gag reflex. Much better than I expected.

500 mL Can. Yellow body with a rocky white head that settles to a ring with some spotty lace. Aroma of cereal grains, yeast, soda crackers, wet hay, and a hint of grassy hops. The flavor is watery-grainy with a note of bread crust and some bitter-grassy hops and a strong corn husk expression that linger in the aftertaste and finish. Will do in hot Australian weather but that’s about the extent of it..

500ml can, 4,6%, honey gold color, with a white head, light cereal, pale, pilsener malt nose, with a faint hay note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp honeyish pale, pilsener malt character with a light herbal flowery hop note, leading towards a faint honeyed maltiness, lingering hop bitterness finish. Not much to say here!

Bottle. Pours clear yellow with white head. Aromas: Corn chips and not much else. Flavour: more corn chips and not much else. BAH! Stay away from this one. Only acceptable when you’re wasted at the pub.

This beer sucks a massive one, bland, no hop aroma at all, not bitter as stated on the label, sharp carbonation, offensive dirt taste that cakes your mouth at the end. how is this so popular? Gross. Instant hangover. You could never drink this at room temp.

375 ml bottle. Rated @ 19.7.2010.
Clear golden colour with a frothy white head. Mild hoppy aroma. Flavour of mild hops, sweet malts with citrus notes. Light bodied with a thin mouthfeel. A bit bitter and therefore a bit better than an average pale lager.

Bought a couple to drink while watching the Aussie Rules Grand Final. Great game - lousy beer. Pale yellow with a metallic skunky smell. Chemical tang followed by a stale taste. Could be the most blatantly mis-named beer I have ever drank as there was NO bitterness at all.
