COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

It pains me that this is one of my country’s highest selling beers. Embarrassing. It lacks in every facet. Don’t let this be your impression of Australian beer.

A little above the middle of the road. Seriously just barely. Nothing really wrong, nothing to write about. Low quality but not a terrible mouth-feel or flavor.

375ml stubby from the Westholme Stores, Goring. Another boring Aussie lager; straw coloured with a loose white head that rapidly faded; malty aroma; sweet malty flavour; a few light hops to finish.

Stubby little 375 ml bottle from Richard’s stash in the fridge. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is light sweet malts. A clean and smooth flavor or sweet apples and grainy malt. OK.

Can from the LCBO, says 4.6% and VB only. Pours a medium-light golden colour with a big frothy white cap, decent retention and dirty lacing. Mass commercial beer smell of chemical malt and corn. Crisp and light-bodied mouthfeel. Hints of grass are found in the taste, which makes this one at least refreshing, but pretty boring overall like most mass lagers.

Only drunk by alcoholics and people who can’t taste. I’d rather drink wine. I don’t like wine.

375 ml can. Golden body with a white head. Aroma is mild grainy with light malt and some grassy hops. Flavor is light and refreshing mild malty with some fruit and a hint of hops. Light, smooth and ordinary.

Bottle (375ml) from Centra, Oslo. Clear golden colour. Small white head that quickly disappears, leaving a thin film. Aroma of corn, nuts, hops, somewhat metallic. Light body, fairly flat carbonation. Taste has decent bitterness, but also a metallic sweetness and acidity that do not blend well together.
