COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

375ml bottle, shared with Finn at Blå Rock Cafe in Tromsø. Clear golden with a ring of bubbles on the top. Perfumed fruity to the nose. Hints of sweet lemon in flavour. Soft carbonation. A beer that does not live up to its name - the bitter part is almost missing (17.10.2008).

Looks good... golden yellow tinged with brown... but thats where it stop for this beer in terms of greatness. Now for Australians, this beer really divides the people who are beer lovers and those who are beer consumers. The benefits of this beer is that it is cheap and there is no liquor store that does NOT sell it. I found it hard to review this beer as i would any other because of this and so i will keep it short. Look: Brown Aroma: None. (it is a cold served beer) Taste: Bitter. Possible hops. It is a great beer to get drunk on, heck i would not turn one down on a hot day with a big peice on steak. And it seems to work well in the Beer Coke mix that i seem to be in the favorable minority of. But as a beer standing up against the world... its got nothing.

TheJollyOne (219) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - OCT 10, 2008
A small fizzy head that diminishes quickly. Dim yellow body, clear with some playful carbonation bubbling up. No much happening on the nose, light hops, some pine perhaps. The taste starts out slightly bitter and then strengthens upon the finish. Light on the palate, fizzy but a bit of a bitter metallic finish. If youre a bitter fan maybe this is for you. It is bitter yes, but fails to spice it up. A bit boring.

Bottle: Pale yellow, Frothy white head. Fresch hoppy nose. Malty grain straw hops in taste. Long bitter hoppy finish.

Golden with a small white head. Aroma has malt and a touch of spicy hops. Malty sweet flavour with a sugary touch. The finish has a little hop bitterness

375 ml bottle. Pale golden colour. Clear. Medium-sized fine-laced white head. Neutral aroma with no noticeable hop aroma, only a hint of malts. Dusty aroma. Low carbonation level, but still feels a little fizzy. Thin bodied, but without being too dry. Nicely balanced, but lacks anything interesting, almost being entirely pointless. Light hop bitterness in the finish.

Tasted 31/08/2009 at Commercial Hotel in Biggenden. Paler than I remember from years ago. Yellow gold and just like all the other pale yellow macro lagers in Australia - though maybe a little worse...

bottle. aroma : mostly sunburned beer. faint too. clear yellow, nice thick 1cm head. flavor:water with sugar, maize-water, no bitterness, aftertaste is slightly better. weak and sweet, yet not as mineral-water’esque as some of the other bad macros. totally harmless. probably great session beer, might be an acquired taste.
