COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

341 ml can purchased at "The Strath" Ale, Wine and Spirit Merchants at the Strathcona Hotel in Victoria, BC. I was in a hurry, I thought it was local, and I thought it was a Bitter. I’m an idiot. Pour is straight Pale Lager, yellow with a white head. Aroma of some chemical fruitiness, and malt. Taste is more of the same, the chemical sweetness being fairly pronounced initially. As this beer warmed, surprisingly, it became much smoother and more palatable.

Bottle atop Canberra’s black mountain radio tower.

After a hike from the University up to the top of black mountain, I was in the mood for a beer and this was the best that they seemed to have to offer up in the cafe atop the needle. (Not that I could complain - I was very happy to discover that indeed they had beer at all.) Yeahm this was a pretty bland pale lager, maybe a bit more crisp than some US alternatives....but a bland fizzy pale lager.

Bottle. Pours pale golden with a off white head. Grassy malty. Medium to watery palate. Overall too weak & anonymous! NUT MUCH OF ANYTHING!

As standard and uninteresting as it can be, a winner if you enjoy a decent pale larger though

VB is a real thirst quencher, best experienced on a hot day. I recently bought some on a wintery night and the taste left a lot to be desired. Still, it is cheap to buy VB in NZ.

Bottle. A lager, tastes a bit watery but I suppose is worthy of drinking when you are dying of thirst. Even fosters doesn’t get that much credit.
