COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

Canned(375ml). -A bit darker than Hahn Premium Light, also big white chemical head, dusty corn nose. Light sweet malty, some lemony hoppiness and rice. Watery, low bitterness.

I will stick my neck out here and come to a bit of a defense of poor old VB. Firsty, "bitter" has a different meaning in Australia. Bitter is a lager in Oz and not a hoppy ale. These types of beers don’t seem to transplant well to countries with cooler climates. Fiji Bitter, Indonesia’s Bintang and Australia’s VB are incredibly suited for the countries where they originate. Nothing like a cold VB on a hot Australian day. Yes, the beer snob in me knows that they are not technically "great beers" but I still have a soft spot for VB. Cheers mate!

[375ml bottle at Walkabout, Reading] I would have said this was flavourless had I not drunk Carlton Cold FIltered immediately afterwards. By comparison, this is not so bad after all as it does have a slight malty taste, a smidgeon of sweetness and, with only moderate carbonation, is relatively easy to drink. However, it still makes Britain’s own tasteless beer (Greene King IPA keg version) taste fantastic in comparison

bottle - Pours clear gold with a thin white head. It has a light aroma of bready malt and a touch of hops. The taste is of pale malt and a little hops. I was expecting a bit more from a "bitter". It’s light bodied and not too bad, but there’s nothing worth seeking out here.

Not overlly bitter as known. Very simple taste with lingering flavours of malts. Beer has large white head and is pale brown in colour.

375 - ml bottle - Clear light golden color with a large frothy disappearing white head. Aroma hides hints of grassy hops and some citrus fruits, possibly oranges. Light flavor of vegetables and malt. Not really bitter even though the name suggests it. Decent and easy to drink pale lager.
